Fridge paint reaction

I have a problem with the paint on my fridge. There are spots on the bottom half of the fridge where the paint looks like it's been burned (bubbles and flakes with rust underneath). These only appeared today and the only cause I can think of is from using a wood floor cleaner that I may have been too liberal while spraying. It must have reacted with the paint on the fridge. I've wiped the fridge down with water and dried it.

The only thing I can think of to fix it is to sand down the bubbles and repaint it. Is there anything else I can do? Or if painting it is the only option does anyone have any tips? I was even thinking that white car paint might work, the stuff that comes in a little repair kit...

You can get white "appliance" spray paint from B&Q for this sort of touch up job, around 10 euros per can.
