    I actually reported one of their posts to facebook .. one where they we organising a 'visit' to a senior member of the judiciary.

    Apparently fairly open threatening behaviour is not out of line with Facebook's policies and the post was left. Fairly bizarre really

    Facebook only removes things that offend American sensibilities (flash of boob, etc) or which get absolutely vast numbers of reports.

    They actually have an event page set up!! All the usual headers involved.

    I would love to see Facebook or Youtube found liable for damages here due to their 1st amendment nonsense.

    Which of the following is nonsense,

    1. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;
    2. abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;
    3. Or abridging the right of the people peaceably to assemble,
    4. And to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

    These three as unqualified rights are bananas.

    Those idiots were giving out the Commissioner's home address on Facebook earlier. Surely they need to be arrested again for this. Apparently a big case for Mr Manning in the CCJ this Friday.

    I would have thought it was legal discussion since it could be considered an attack on the Judiciary.

    and if they actually look into what is happening (through a quick google) they will see that on the 1st October the renminbi (Chinese currency) is being added to the basked of foreign currency that the IMF use. Hardly going to through anything into chaos.

    These people in there are such a joke. The sad thing is that some people are gonna believe them and actually worry about this.

    But money isn't real I thought? At least that's what they shout about in court?

    we'd be here all day / all week if we were to discuss the inconsistencies in their mantras!!

    Remember .. their leaders and inspirations are failed developers etc who owe millions of real money and quite a bit on unpaid taxes .. so they will make up stuff depending on how it suits their own personal goals. the main goal being able to sustain the life of millionaires without any of the expenses

    There was a case some time ago where a judge refused to recuse himself even though his daughter was appearing for one of the parties. Protests occur against the two branches of government all the time.

    By the way the common law society hold workshops and provide material for which they charge. Surely that's holding yourself out as a lawyer.

    If that's the case I am thinking about it happened in the 70's or 80's. It's a reported High Court JR.

    The case I was thinking about was something quite small; like the asking for the judge to get an update on the status of the case in two weeks instead of having the case in two weeks. I think it was about '01 or '02? The daughter was quite young.

    The rule about appearing in front of a relative is that barristers (I don't know about solrs) ought not to habitually appear before a close relative.

    Of course, there is the issue of perceived bias that can give rise to a JR but the rule is as above.

    If it is a non-contentious application, such as an unopposed or consent one, there isn't a huge issue. If it is a contentious matter, best practice is not to appear. Most of those with family members on the bench won't appear before them in those circumstances.

    Who knows? However reports that the defendants have fired their lawyer and instead will take legal advice from a journalist leads me to doubt the defendants judgement...
