Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Assignment no.65 - Dramatic Light

I've had trouble coming up with something, but finally I think I've decided on a good topic - Dramatic Light. This is a great country for these kinds of images, and this is a great time of year for it, especially with these long, slow sunsets we get at this time of year. The idea is to capture dramatic lighting that exhibits striking contrast and areas of bright light/dark shadow. It can be a bit technically tricky, but I find these images very rewarding. It doesn't have to be of sunsets or skyscapes - just make sure it contains the factors I mentioned above.

I would like to keep PP to a minimum - of course toning and tweaking is all fine, just don't go overboard with it!

    The rules:
-Photos must be posted within 2 weeks of the day the task was set– so the closing time/date is midnight on Thursdaythe 25th going on 26th of August 2011.
-No old photos. Only photos taken with this task in mind qualify.
-Therefore, the photo must be taken after 12.00pm on the 11th August 2011.
-Photos must be on the given task.
-ONE photo per post. But submit as many posts as you like.
-Stretch yourself – there is no limitation to what you can do to produce the image.
-The next task/subject is to be chosen by the person who has the most thanks after their post at the closing date/time (the post must include a photo).

    An example of my own:

Occasionally the morning sun hits our porch lamp and sends these all down the hall.

Taken on the iPhone this morning, thrown into PS, added levels adjustment layer just to darken the wall. I hope that qualifies as minor tweaking. Apologies if not.

Can't decide if I love or hate this but I took it for this challenge so I thought I might as well post it. We were driving through a snow storm at sunset and were trying to keep up with the snow plough for fear of being stuck on a mountain!
