    Heading up there for a few days breakaway with my Missus next Tuesday, just looking for suggestions on what to do. Thanks in advance.

    Birr Castle and grounds. Clonmacnoise, although its years since i was there and cant really remember it. Lough Boora for a stroll. Cant think of anything else at moment.

    The 3 suggestions above are also worthwhile, Clonmacnoise on a sunny day is beautiful, stop into Shannon Bridge for a pint in Killeens
