Looking for Deskspace in Central Dublin

I am moving to Dublin from the UK in September to open an Irish branch of our business. Initially it will just be me.

Whilst I could work from home, I'd much prefer to be able to get up and go somewhere to work. I don't need much space, just a desk, power and internet access really.

Doesn't need to be a serviced office as such but that's what I'm looking for at the minute. It could be someone has an office already and is looking to make some extra money by renting out a desk space?

Anyone got any ideas of where I could look and/or how much I'd be looking to pay?

Actually, yeah, I saw that one. But since it's a couple of months old now and the website doesn't work (and hasn't for a while) I thought I'd post separately.

Looks like I can pay €259/mo for unlimited access to a shared office at any Regus office in Ireland. The downside I guess is it would be a different desk every day and wouldn't be able to store stuff there. I've enquired with them to see how the cost would compare to actually rent a desk (the same desk) long-term.

Shared Internet costs €40 plus VATper monthplus connection charges. Dedicated lines available.

Telephone rental is €38 per month (2/3phone lines)plus VAT plus connection charges.

Access hours are 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. Monday to Friday and 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

There is always a demand for serviced offices and particularly at present as people try to control their costs and at the same time improve their customer service. Many businesses are outsourcing telephone answering , reception , accounts and admin. functions to specialist companies like ourselves as it is more efficient and more cost effective. In the stationery industry many re-sellers (Office Suppliers) work as modular dealers with no warehouse , no staff etc just sales people everything else is done for them by the ir wholesale suppliers i.e. order processing , deliveries, invoicing etc etc , all they do is sell the product and collect the payments.

I may be able to help you out. I have an office which isn't used very often in Dublin 1. It's about 350sq, has internet and phone facilities. PM me for more info

Heard of this place recently that might help. Another office sharing facility.

This space is great http://www.amworks.ie/ , I tried it out on one of their free days and loved it, the only thing was that I realised I didn't want to trek out to town every day, really worth a look though

That's not far from where I'm planning to find accommodation so could well be ideal. The price is very reasonable too I think!

I went to check this out a while back. I was guided through the place, and it was mostly empty. Large rooms with many desks, with one person occupying the entire room.

It's supposed to be non profit, yet they have these pretty high prices. No wonder the place is empty.

Well I emailed them... but no reply as yet. Fingers crossed it's suitable - looks good.

    Hi lmartin,

I've got a desk space in a shared office in Upper Mount St., Dublin 2, just off Merrion Square. Desk, filing cabinet and bookshelves supplied.

It's €150 per month. No bills and that includes access to shared 7.6mb broadband.

There's two of us sharing here at the moment, both self-employed. PM me for more info.

Maybe get in touch with the Dublin City Enterprise Board. I know they had an offer on for shared workspace recently. I think it was €250 per month but afaik you got a phone line and call answering. I do have details somewhere, if you want more info pop me a PM and I'll root them out for you.

    Hello Imartin,
I've arrived in Dublin a month ago and I am currently working from home but really need to find a desk in a shared office soon! Have you found anything else besides amworks? (BTW, looks awesome! but a little more than I wanted to spend...!)

If anyone else has new info it's very welcome!

Hey Imartin, I looked all around Dublin for a place and I ended up where I started: amworks Take a look at the site, it has prices and pictures. it's cool, I am right here now. people are nice and the owner, Alan is a very nice guy. It's flexible as well, ie i come only three days a week.
Take a look at the site and let me know if you have any questions!

    Good luck
    Clara
