galway man bought and owns the buggati lives in galway keeps it in spain some of the time

It was reported the car was driven on the public roads in Galway when it was new alright. There's evidence online that shows the car was driven on the public roads in Dublin. The car was never registered in Ireland though...

I wonder was the car driven without tax and / or insurance? I wonder what plates were on the car when it was driven here. If the car was driven by an Irish resident on Irish roads, it would have been illegal if the car was on foreign plates...

In fairness, its a Veyron.....If I was a gard I'd be afraid of that W16 engine note alone

not to mention the fact I wouldn't like to block any air getting into its radiators by standing too close to it.....I'd be afraid the thing would melt

Was considering something along the lines of a 355/348/328 etc...toying with the idea...always wanted a Ferrari but its a bit of a pain no one here offers service for them

Ferraris and Porsches are like any other car, once the warranty expires you have no real reason to bring it to a main dealer and a good independent specialist is more often than not better then a main dealer. I was looking at buying a 308/328 or Mondial last year as I almost got one about 12 years ago and always regretted not getting it. I was living in Germany at the time and although there were two Ferrari dealerships in the area I lived most people with older Ferraris took their cars to another independent mechanic who was not attached to either dealer.

I eventually ended out buying a 12 year old Porsche 911 and a much older 912, it was the same story, cars were serviced with an independent Porsche specialist and not with a main dealer. There is someone south of Dublin who does the older Ferraris and possibly Lambos, Maseratis and so on. I'm not that sure who he is but his name should be easy to find out from any Ferrari owner.

A guy called Ken Plant in Kiltipper is very good with Ferraris and other exotica, esp older ones.

^ I'm very sure this is the guy I heard about at the time. btw if you are thinking about buying the 308/328 series the engines are surprisingly robust.

Not if the individual was domiciled outside of the state and resided within that domicile for a set period per year.

Passing through the Phoenix Park about an hour ago saw about 15 Ferraris of various models/years parked beside the main Áras gates. Couldn't take any pictures cos my phone battery was gone but if anyone is passing through keep an eye out, was a pretty sight! :D
