Any users of Kindle out there?
Touching the forelock in the direction of the Mods, respect for Rule 8 and all that, I’m looking for suggestions on legally free hunting / shooting / safari books on Amazon for Kindle.
I have already downloaded, free :
‘Hunting the Grisly and Other Sketches’ by Theodore Roosevelt – a good read, style a bit florid, but interesting detail on hunting buffalo, bear, wolves, boar, etc , the latter two with dogs. Era is 1870-1890 USA.
‘Wild Beasts and Their Ways’ by Samuel White Baker – reading it at the moment, first 20% or so is all about elephants and tigers and the initial pages are about rifling/ballistics/ loads, etc, which is interesting from a historical perspective – period is 1850-ish to 1870 (Baker sometimes used a 2 (yes, two) bore gun made for him by H & H)
    Any book suggestions?
    Thanks,
    P.
