Marinade For Lamb Shank

Hi,

I am looking for a marinade for a lamb shank. I'd like some that's spicy, but not very spicy.

I am allergic to peppers and chillis, but I can use a very small (approx. 1/2 teaspoon) of chilli powder.

I don't have a slow cooker so it needs to be cooked in the oven.

I would think you would be better braising the lamb shanks. Perhaps a Moroccan spiced dish would work well.

Alternatively, braise it and when cooked add to a nice rich curry sause. Massaman or something like that.

I'll have to hunt down some ingredients and try out these recipes, they look delicious.

Also, are lamb shanks meant to be a red/pink colour after cooking?

Rosemary and garlic are always great with lamb. They can be a reddy colour when cooked. Not always brown in my experience.
