we have an old jcb 3c on the farm and i think the oilpump is gone on it. have been searching online to find out how to replace it but i havent found anything.
any of you guys know how to do it??
its the first of the torqe jcb's which i think (not sure) had a layland engine.

they have a leyland 498/nt engine in them same as a leyland 270 or 272 tractors any of the tractor breakers would have parts for them,, what exactly happened the engine??

I am taking it on advice from a negibour that the oil pump is gone. it has smoking a lot and gets hot if worked anyway hard. Most of the time its just ticking over doing little jobs, rarely gets any hardship.
A lot more rattly the engins s aswell.

generally if the oil pump is gone the engine goes pretty quickly afterwards.

I think you need to get a mechanic to look at it before you go off buying random parts.

The oild pump is gone i have that on good advice from a boy in the know!!
I need to know how to replace it.

We have a JCB 3D which has the same leyland engine as the 3C . Last year we reconditioned the engine . Some of the parts are very expensive .The guy that reconditioned the engine had to get some of the parts in England. .Two bushings cost 130 Euro.Not sure how much the oil pump cost. Did you check the oil pressure with a pressure gauge.
