For those who like to take super good care of their cycling garments.

    <2.00e

    http://www.dealz.ie/lingerie-wash-bag

Only took me bleedin ages going around the "usual suspects" to happenchance upon these in Dealz. You'd have thought Heatons etc would stock them :/

It's about 12*18 inches so quite large to.

Can I just ask - why would I need one of these? (I promise I am not being smart) All my gear says wash without softener, so therefore, my gear is washed on it's own. Is there something I missed (or am missing?)

    Wheelo

Up until a month ago I didn't know I needed them either :) I did say "super good" care!

In general you don't need them but they probably will extend the lifetime of your garments.

I suppose it has a lot to do with abrasion and centrifugal forces?

If you are doing a mixed wash it protects your shorts, for example, from the zipper of your jersey. Or the velcro on a pair of gloves.

During a spin cycle it stops Lycra stretching.

There is a whole world of washing sh1t that I learned over the last few weeks. For example, I never knew you always had to zip up your zippers for anything while washing them.

Velcro is evil in a wash with other items. Both zippers and velcro slash the crap out of everything.

I always thought that those little loose threads on gear was par for the course but now I'm not so sure...

I use similar wash nets for same reasons you mentioned.

If you told me 10 years ago I'd be posting about my laundry technique on a web forum I'd tell you to get out of town ... getting old has changed me in unexpected ways!

Double check them on Wiggle, when you take into account exchange rate and P&P it's not cheaper than these

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/sealskinz-winter-cycle-gloves/

or all weather for 27.84 euro

    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/sealskinz-all-weather-cycle-gloves/

thanks for the reminder though, i need to get the finger our and buy some winter gloves before the deals are gone :D

Indeed they are. Sport Pursuit has them for 27.93, so 9 cent more expensive than wiggle, before P&P. Good call sir.

I think my plan might have been scuppered... you need to spend 1.15c more on Wiggle to get free P&P.... how much is P&P with Sports pursuit?

It's a fiver for delivery and they won't be dispatched until at least the 1st week in October.
Reading through reviews on Wiggle, it looks like these may be the ones to go for (for commuting purposes). They aren't in stock at the moment, I'll probably wait for them to come in (although I am in the US next week so might pick up something over there).

any deals on turbo trainers? The beraing is gone in my roller, and it requires a new roller unit apparently. The roller unit is nearly as dear as the turbo!

any offers on some puncture resistant tyres (gators, marathons, etc). Looking for 700x28/32.

Picked up 2 "final clearance" long sleeve plain red jerseys today in Lidl for €8.99 each (down from €11.99). Not fleece lined but should be good for the temperatures we're headed into. Got a size L but brought it back and a a M was a prefect fit. Plenty of stock in Bray this evening.

If you didn't get one another way, noticed my local Aldi (Naas, beside the big Tesco) had some, reduced to 2.99

Second hand is the way to go. I paid €115 for mine new last September and have seen virtually new ones on various classifieds sites/FB pages for as low as €50 for the same one.

Evans have decent price on some wheels at the moment. For example, just ordered Zonda for 309 with free delivery

Was looking at those last week but was hesitant as I wanted something that was windproof, are they just a regular long autumn/spring sleeve jersey?

No fleece lining, just regular but at €9 I'm not complaining

I'd say it's a good call that it'll include a cycleputer, too, as Next Island to the Right current Aldi offers include one. But I wouldn't get too excited: I got one last time they had them in, and not only were they even lower spec than the Lidl ones, the one I got didn't work at all. Phoned up the helpline number on the pack and a nice Indian woman a) sounded very unsurprised, and b) just told me to take it back to the shop.

The watchword is: save ye your receipt, and remember the 60-day returns period.

That the wireless or wired ones? They've had both in at different recentish weeks. If it's the wired ones, I'd be very cautious -- had one of those before, and the connector repeatedly ended up in bits. But presumably not everyone's as clumsy as I am...

Mind you, the wireless Lidl ones aren't perfect either... otherwise I wouldn't be looking to replace mine! But I got a couple of years of good service out of it, which is hardly bad for well under a tenner.

Castelli Velocissimo 2 Bib Tights on Sportspursuit for €76 (€84 inc postage)

    http://www.sportpursuit.com/catalog/product/view/id/569986

Looked online and they get good reviews. They are 100 GBP on Wiggle and CRC so you're talking of a saving in the region of €50+ even when postage is accounted for

How are Castelli fo size? I recently went with small for the Vermarc order and they fitted perfectly. Would I be small in Castelli too? Cheers.
