Anyone know where I can get a decent priced clear rain jacket/cape for racing-I need it clear so that the number can be seen underneath….

£12 postage for a £3 pair of arm warmers! They can fcuk right off.

And no I won't even bother quoting parcel motel. Places like this won't be getting my business.

Noticed the p&p was high alright outside the UK. Got a great deal on a RBS grid jacket, Tornado Bib tights and RBS gloves. The order was around €70 and it seemed to be free P&P to the UK if the order went over a certain amount. Ended up using Parcel motel so worked out really well including the parcel motel cost.

Endura FS260 range has a gilet and race cape that seem pretty similar to the hot pack in transparency too, and that review well: http://road.cc/content/review/137332-endura-adrenaline-race-gilet contains pictures of the former to gauge how clearly numbers might be seen

Can be gotten for a little cheaper than the sportful also from my looking

What kind of car? I have a Saris Bones 2 for sale (used once) as I have recently changed car and it doesn't fit the new car.

MOD VOICE: Please read the OP before posting. A bit of chat about a bargain, whether it is one or if there is better out there is fine, but it is not a bargain request thread.

May not be to everyones tastes but ekoi are selling thermal skinsuits for €100.
I ordered one during black friday sales and it is every bit as good as the Castelli Thermosuit which is nearly 3 times the price. This combined with a gilet and light base layer is all that was needed for the coldest of the weather last week. The advantage of this over the castelli thermosuit is that the waist is higher with a greater overlap between the jacket section and bib section.

    http://www.ekoi.fr/en/thermal-suits/5699-ekoi-aerocomp-2-dry-full-black-winter-skinsuit.html
Using the code 'EXTRA10' knocks 10% off the sale price and for any purchases over €100 EKOI offer payments by optional installments (2/3/4 months at 0% interest)

There are lots of offers on helmets and glasses on the site as well.

Wow, is that a full on onesy? Is it tortuous to get in and out of?

Sizing is european, for reference i am 5ft 8 inches and 85kg and i am between Medium and Large. I have a medium in Short Sleeve version and felt it was a bit tight so went for Large in the Winter suit as i would probably be wearing a baselayer etc. Fit is almost perfect but a small bit of bunching on the knees as the large expects a taller rider

No it is just as easy to get on and off as a pair of bib tights and 'nature breaks' can be accommodated without too much hassle.

    See the Product note.

    I'll save people the Clickbait....
    Product note:
The rear 303 Firecrest may present some fitment issues for a small number of road and triathlon frames. The clearance between the chainstay and the rim may not be adequate to avoid contact between each other when ridden under load.
We urge customers who plan on riding the 303 Firecrest to test the wheel within the frame in which they intend to ride, under normal riding and road conditions, before purchasing. Clearance within individual frames of the same size, from the same manufacturer, may vary. That is why it is imperative that you test the wheel in your frame, or in the frame that you are considering purchasing.
Customers who run into this fitment issue may select any other spoked wheel within the Zipp lineup as an alternative, including the 404 Firecrest with its narrower aero-width profile.
Below is a list of known frames that may present this issue. This list will be updated if this fitment issue is discovered elsewhere.
    2012 Specialized Tarmac SL4
    Specialized S-Works McLaren Venge

    54cm.
56cm let alone 58cm will be to big

No necessarily a 54 or a 56 might be the right choice depending on dimensions.

However if taking an online punt on it a 54 would be easier to make fit. Smaller frame and all that.

58 though definitely on the large side

If some people like to use no offset seatpost and 80mm stems with short reach handlebars they can try 56 as 5'10 :).

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭robyntmorton

I'm 5'11", and I'm currently on a 58. If I had a second chance at the same bike I'd have a 56, as I am just a little stretched on it. So yeah, 54-56 would be a better choice, but try the two sizes if you can.

I'm 5'10" and ride a 54. Depends on your saddle height. This will catch you on this bike. BB to top of saddle for me is 73cm. Saddle is about as low as I'd like it to be (looks wise at least). If your saddle height is 75+ the 56 could work.
