Those CREE front lights that people often recommend are down to £15.30 on Amazon:

You'll probably have to Parcel Motel them though.

I've heard generally positive things about Boardman bikes. It's the service and assembly in Halfords where the problems are mentioned.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,058 ✭✭✭AltAccount

I've the cheaper Boardman carbon, and it's been great. Halfords service is absolutely SHOCKING though.

Think it all depends on the individual Halfords. Couple of decent lads in the Sligo branch. Generally though it's hard to disagree that Halfords' service is ****.

sounds good although could do with a 27 instead of 25 rear cassette

In fairness, it's a very light bike and at the price and spec it is, it's aimed at competitive/serious cyclists, not your average recreationalist.

A standard double and a 11-25 cassette would be a fairly large range of gears to most people racing at any decent level, especially in Ireland, we don't exactly have that many massive climbs.

Only 60 and 62 available, but if you're tall, this is crazy value.

This looks a very well speced entry level bike for anyone looking for that sort of thing.
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/raleigh-revenio-3-105-2013/

105 groupset, alu frame, carbon fork for €722.

Raleigh have been doing a very good job over the last few years to regain their reputation of producing well made, good value for money bikes after 2 decades of making absolute horsesh*te.

That would have been a great price alright. It's not listed to include cadence or HRM any longer.
