Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Upskilling in IT

I have just been informed that I will be teaching ICT to TY's and 5th years next year. I taught both of these last year but I am interested in doing courses this year to upskill in the area of IT as I love it and would enjoy teaching it more in schools if I was not just teaching the run of the mill Word, Excel etc (I would be very comfortable with these programmes already)

I was researching EDI/JEB Teacher's Diploma course however I feel I would already know most that they would teach in this course and it is a whopping €1000. I would love a course on web design or network maintenance. Basically i am trying to make myself as attractive as possible for future employement.

    Thanks :)

    Network+ maybe?

I'm not too sure about A+ as that usually involves opening up computers and a few opportunistic lads might start swiping RAM on you. Or perhaps some basic programming?

I had never heard of this course before. Just had a quick look at it there. Sounds exactly what I would be looking for. I am going to investigate further. Thanks again!

Not an upskilling course, but something that you could teach with a little bit of research on your own part.

Basically programming with a visual interface.
