I finished that over Christmas, and enjoyed it a lot; it didn't feel like 1000 pages or whatever it is (I read the 'extended' edition).

I'm currently reading The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton, set in seventeenth-century Amsterdam. A really interesting read so far :)

Seems The Stand is quite popular on here. About two thirds through it myself. Really enjoying it.

I've read The Stand a few times now, but not for a few years. Time for a re-visit?

I'm reading another King book at the moment: Doctor Sleep. It's about the son of The Shining caretaker. Good so far.

Lamentation by CJ Sansom...wasn't aware this was part of an ongoing series, but it doesnt seem to have a bearing. Really enjoyable crime/mystery set in Henry VIII's court.

Great to see someone saying this is good, I've the sample of this on my Kindle and those nice people at Amazon gave me a voucher for a free book today, so might get this one ;)

Currently, I'm finishing "The Midwich Cuckoos". A friend of mine lent it to me, along with "The Day of the Triffids". Both are nice reads, though in the Midwich Cuckoos he's spending a lot of time making sure his characters explain to the reader what's going on - a little tedious.

Next up, it's "Of Mice and Men".

"Capital in the 21st" - long, lots of chart, and written from a French view of how capital should be used: hence a mixture of statist polices and literary references.

it's well worth a read. He has a few essays at the end detailing some characters/ history/ motivations which are a great read too.

Finished 'The Book of Strange New Things' by Michel Faber earlier, great book by great writer.

Onto '2010' by Arthur C. Clarke, something short thank god. Enjoyable.

Anjelia Huston's autobiography 'Watch Me'. Seems very interesting, well written and full of Hollywood anecdotes!
