    Oh God, I'm first..

I got more than enough points for my 3rd choice (1st and 2nd were always a bit out of my league) and I am pretty happy across the board except for Business (B3 - was expecting at least a B2) and Maths (a B2- was expecting at least a B1). I'm extremely happy with Physics (A2) and English (B2 - I NEVER do that well!). French was a C1 and considering I was thinking of dropping I'm pretty happy. Irish and Applied Maths were grand!

If anyone has any doubts as to the accuracy of their results please be prudent about it and avail of the recheck/ viewing procedure.

Best of luck to all with the CAO results next week.

I end up getting 310 Points (30 from LCVP)
I am considering sending my LCVP for re-check. I mean worth a try.

Same here...i have plenty for my 3rd choice and i'm 15 below my 1st two choices which I knew were non runners
Got 485 overall and my 3rd choice is 420...very happy with dcg, physics (B1's) and maths and chemistry(B2's) Delighted with english (C1), but slightly disappointed with geo (B1) was hopin for an A
Got an A2 though in Irish which was my only OL subject

Got almost exactly the same points as I'd predicted! :P 525.
A1's in Biology and Chemistry (HL)
    A1 in Maths (O)
    A2 in Business (HL)
A2 in French (HL) Utterly amazed I pulled that out of the bag!!
B3 in English (HL) Might view this script, thought it was more B1-ish.
I don't care about Irish, but I did it in HL and got C2 without doing a tap. :P
Finally, I got a Distinction in LCVP.

All in all, very pleased. I'll be getting my 2nd choice, my 1st had always been a tiny bit optimistic :P
Hope everyone's happy with their results and that everything works out for them. Good luck to anyone still waiting!

    English: A1
    Chemistry: A1
    Biology: A1
Engineering: A2 (Going to appeal more than likely)
French: B1 (Definitely viewing the script)
    Maths: B2 (How? :D)
Business: B2 (Going to appeal more than likely)

Relatively pleased with 555. I'm raging over some subjects though (Business and Engineering mainly...).

I really don't want it to be honest, it's Economics & Management in Oxford.
They'll take me but yet UCC & UCD can't :( . What a bad day

I thought it was only the 'NUIs' (ucd, galway, cork etc.) that required a pass in irish. aren't you ok for any applications in tcd/ul/dcu/dit

Can you not appeal your irish exam? You'd only need to go up one grade surely? Stellar results apart from that btw, well done.

Eh... if you can't get into an Irish university with LC results like that then its an outrage.
Time to take a long hard look at the system.

That was my constant nightmare :(

It's a disgrace if you don't get an offer with results like that because you failed an exam in a dead language. Appeal Irish and hope for the best.

Well that went better than I thought it would, Maths especially!

    Irish - OL - A2
    Maths - HL - B2
    English - HL - B1
    German - HL - B2
    Chemistry - HL - B3
    Music - HL - B2
    Physics - HL - B2

Hooooopefully that'll get me into either Science in UCD or Science Ed. in DCU. We'll see! Well done to everyone :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,720 ✭✭✭Sid_Justice

    That's a pisser. :(

    Appeal. If that doesn't work.
Repeat Irish next year (and do ordinary level ffs)
    Enjoy a year watching tv

This is so unlucky and ridiculous, you'll have to take the year out and just do Irish next year, not the end of the world but puts a dampener on those unreal results.

I know there was no need, shouldn't of took the risk. There's not really much I can do now though. Rang UCAS they said it was fine & my offer's uneffected don't really have much other options now though!

Did you apply to trinity by any chance?
If so they don't require Irish.

Just because he did so well doesn't mean he has an ego....

Didnt say that was the reason. Seriously though, take a year off, do **** all, chill out, do ordinary level Irish next year. If there was ever any doubt about failing you should have never chanced honours, just want to say this in case you chance honours next time out again.

i thought you had to have irish OR english?? i didn't think it specifically HAD to be irish. i mean i didn't sit irish at the leaving at all (being english i don't do irish) so that would have meant they were never gonna take me which would have been discrimination. i mean surely they take foreign students who don't speak irish so why the fcuk wouldn't they take you with all your fabulous results. to me the only place irish should be a requirement is for courses that actually use the damn thing such as primary school teacher

the rest of your results are fab. well done. keep your chin up, and if the colleges are insisting on irish perhaps appeal and you can maybe push it to a d3?

Got 455, went in thinking I'd be lucky to scrape 400 !

    Irish - OL A1
    English - HL A2
    Maths - Ol A2
    History - HL B2
    French - HL C1
