Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have a problem with this for some time now, have one of theses

in the sitting room on a dimmer switch. I replaced the lamp holder a few years ago because of a toxic smell in the room which I discovered came from skirt on this and it was all yellow. I was probably using too high a watt bulb 150w for the holder at the time.

I replaced it with what I thought was a quality grade plastic holder rated 100w and only used 100w in it.

Cleaning the shade today the lamp skirt is all yellow and the smell of it would kill ya.

The lower energy dimable bulbs are very expensive.

Would a flaired plastic skirt solve the problem or is there any other options.

    i think they're rated 100watt?

there's a lot of bad stuff on the market now-even through the mainstream suppliers

You can get ones that have a metal inset that hold the bulb.
They withstand the heat better and can take a higher wattage bulb.

as above the type with the metal insert is better, most wholesalers do them.
prob the most common brands are bg and flatline, there only a couple of euro and if your on the northside anytime gimme a pm and ill throw ye one.

Drop onto your local wholesaler and ask for a decent brand MK or Volex and make sure it's T2 Rated.
