getting 3 red lights after flashing my dvd drive.Help!

    I got a faulty xbox360 from a mate with rrod.
    i fixed it myself and got it working.
    i've also a normal one for live

    so i decided to flash the dvd drive on it
    however, when i was doing this i put the power cable for the drive in the wrong way and smoke came out.
    so i ordered a replacement ms25 dvd drive for it

    now when i flash it to stock using a via card and then update the dashboard
    i get a problem when i flash it to lt 1.9 sammy firmware
    i get the 3 red rings again
    when i flash it back to stock rings disappear.
    what am i doing wrong??
    Ive the latest dashboard 13599
    i use the latest jungleflasher

    Probably unrelated if it's an RROD console anyways but what's the secondary error code? (Press & hold sync, then press eject 4 times noting the number of lights flashing after each press. 1 light = 1, 2 lights = 2, 3 lights = 3, 4 lights = 0)

    Check if there is a more recent version of lt and flash it to the drive

    Flash it back to ixtreme
    tell us what error code you get if you do get red lights again.
    we cant help you untill.
    Also were you using a ck3 or the console itself to power the drive ?
    If you used the console check for burned out componants

    well i flashed it back to stock and tried to boot it up but 3 red rings again.
    no burned out components
    now i did get 1 e66 error after flashing to stock and then updating but the problem was i had the wrong dvd key for the drive in it
    so ichanged that back to the original drive but still no luyck
    since the new update for 13599 everything has gone haywire
    might as well throw out the xbox360 and flash the dvd drive back to its original and sell it on ebay

    or get it reballed to fix the RROD...

    Getting it reballed will bring it back to life and then you can flash original or custom firmware and there will be no RROD.

    I knew it was the console that was acting up as in your original post you said when you flash original firmware there was no RROD and when you flashed custom there was. That was not possible as custom firmware would not bring on a RROD.
