Average costs of Registration Fees and Books and the likes.
Basically the initial costs of going into College.
I'm going to UL if it makes any difference but I'm assuming its all the same.
Essentially though, how much is it to get into college? (Minus transport and accommodation.)

Registration is just above 2000euro, that's what I heard anyway.

Do you know when we need to pay it?

It is €2000 at least for the year, plus some uni's might have a charge on top of that. Don't buy book in first or second year, use the library. Major cost will be accom for those living away from home and transport for those living at home (unless you are right beside the uni)

Some courses will require you buy certain items, i.e science students have to buy lab coats and the like.

    Cheers lads.
&& you usually get the grants at the end of the year yes?
Think they all apply with me..
Science student living away from home going to UL...
    Costly enough :/

I was in the same boat, science student (UCD) living away from home. You can live of €50 a week rather easily once you settle down, ex rent of course. Also re science books...those who seek, shall find ;)

    That is brilliant :O
    Laptop, Unlimited Internet, Printer maybe...
Save quite a bit of money I'd say :o

Cuts back on unnecessary expenditure a nice amount :)
    Thanks again,
Will definitely avail of that :D
