Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry for re-post from other section. Working from phone isn't easy :)

I've been to Dubai before a number of years ago but not Abu Dhabi. Familiar enough with climate and culture etc. but am just hoping to get someone's first hand knowledge of things to do in a short time.

I will be stopping off there for close to 15 hours next week and naturally want to go wandering while I'm there. I'll be arriving midday and leaving close to 3am.

With Ramadan going on as well... I know the general rules. Either way not thinking pub scene at all, just other stuff to be aware of from you would be awesome.

    hey

It will be very hot so bring some light clothes but still be aware of dress codes as more conservative than dubai.

    • Marina mall - u might not want to go shopping but will appreciate the air con
    • new mosque - amazing site - thinks its largest in the world- they spent a fortune on it.
    • Yas island - has some nice hotels on it - good to have lunch there or have a look. Home of the f1 circuit too of you are interested. They have driving school there to test drive cars.
    • Downtown - there is some museums - history of uae
    • Cornice - worth a drive

Tourist info desk in airport to grab some brochures.

    thanks

I would second the cornice you can watch some seriously cool cars racing each other at the lights. The heritage center is interesting and I also enjoyed the emirates palace. The mosque is beautiful as well, I cannot remember the name but you cannot miss "the mosque" in Abu Dhabi
