Twelve hours of airsoft you say? That sounds far too tempting!

I'm trying my best to convince the powers that be to go...I have too many nice new toys that I need to give a fielding (so to speak), and if the store was anything to go by it sounds like there's going to be a great group up tomorrow!

I will (hopefully) see you tomorrow!

Good stuff hope to see ya then, its shaping up to be a great day with people coming from as far as Kerry

And you should consider hanging on, a good bunch of lads due up for the evening and I spent all dat rigging up new lights

Great games today Kev - was great to give the Inokatsu 1911 and Marui M9A1 a whirl!

Let me know if you get that MP7...I've a hankering for one as well!

The new lights add a lot, and the site looks great! I have to say, I am much prefering your objective based games such as downed pilot, bomb recon etc. Much more enjoyable!

I still say that your site lends itself beautifully to prop-enhanced games such as code deactivated bombs, flashing lights and sirens etc.

I completely agree, I have a few props coming in over the next few weeks, main problem at the minute is getting the time to make the stuff and get in and fit them

With the lighting on site im currently trying out the dirrent light sources, I want to be able to change things so good spots during the day won't be good for the evening games and the like, also checking out coloured and flashing hazard lights

We have games on this week on Wednesday and Friday evening, gates open at 6 and games start at 7 until 10, then we have games on Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 10, games start at 11 and finish at 5.30

Hey all, I'm toying with the idea of doing themed evenings, these would objective based games and there would be a different mission each week, with games ideally lasting around an hour and a half and then reversing it, just trying to find out would that appeal to people?

    Yes.

Double Yes. Cannot stress enough yes. :P

Your idea of the more tactical and themed objective-based evenings got me thinking. The type of games that I like to play most are ones where you have a couple of different objectives to achieve, as it stops games stagnating...and I feel they are multifaceted enough to keep everyone happy.

Anyway, I came up with a sample game that is pretty basic, yet is subtly tweaked in such a way that it should be different absolutely every single time you play it. Obviously it's up my alley, and would love to give it a go - just gotta hope others like the concept

    Seek & Destroy:

Teams: 2 (Team 'A' stacked i.e. two thirds of players, and Team 'B' with remaining third)

Rules: Team B have medic rules, Team A have 4 lives & 3 respawns

Object: Team B must locate & secure items (e.g dossiers/folders, floppy disks, ammo boxes...anything really) scattered (and protected) around the building in various rooms, and escort it back to where they started. On top of that, they must locate the enemy's armoury, secure it and wire it to blow (i.e. place bomb prop) and run down the timer until the enemy do not have time to diffuse. They must then evacuate, leaving no man behind.

Team A must defend the items and armoury at all costs. If any items are taken, attempt to locate enemy extraction and return the items to respawn. Prevent enemy from escaping.

Curveball/s: The items change location both organically and by placement deviation (i.e. marshals won't put them in the same place twice, as well as them being retrieved by both sides during the game). The armoury can also change location, as does Team A's & B's respawn/start point.

Variations on rules: Perhaps a floor by floor rolling assault style would run smoother, as in all items must be found before moving on, which would stop the game from suddenly ending.

I think there's enough for everyone in that kind of game - there's action aplenty, you can set up pretty much anywhere for defense and still have something to do. While on the offensive, you are constantly having to check everywhere, as well as having to keep watching your back. You can plan your attack - split your forces and gather/defend items while others locate and destroy armoury before escape, or finish one and then the other. For those that want to fire tonnes of BB's, you can go for the defensive side.

You can also play straight reversals by just toggling who plays on Team B giving everyone ample opportunity, as well as changing the game dynamic by moving/switching start point, as well as armoury and item location.

I think it could work, and it's definitely something I'd like to give a go!

Thanks kev, that's the exact sort of games I'm looking at, I have a similar game with the objects being collected having the location of the next object to be found, but the defenders don't know which one will be next, this way we could maximise the use of the building, I'm also getting some alarmed keypads to use aswell, so if you don't enter the right code when entering a room the alarm goes off, so for example the attackers need to locate the code for the armoury before entering

We're expecting good numbers tomorrow night so will try it out then

That new game with CD's + bomb is excellent. Once you get going there's enough to keep you busy for ages.

Great games today - thoroughly enjoyed :)

Firing range targets, just wondering did people enjoy the firing range targets and how they were set up?

It was nice having the opportunity to fire off a few BB's to get the guns set up - it also means people are a little more warmed up for the first game, taking a lot of the sting out of it :)
