social clubs etc in Cork or Kerry

Hi I have 40+ male relative living in the country. His social life has taken a nose dive, so was wondering does anyone know of any social clubs or any kinda of clubs that he could join to get to know other people in a similiar sitution. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards Maggie Mc
