Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cyclist seriously injured after collision on Merrion Road

    It happened in a three car collision according to the Garda press office...
    Garda - Serious Road Traffic Collison, Merrion Road.

    Gardai at Donnybrook are presently at scene of a three car collision which also involved a pedal cyclist. The collision occured shortly after 1 p.m. today Friday, 19th August, 2011.

    One person (pedal cyclist) removed to St. Vincents Hospital with serious head injuries.

    Merrion Road is now closed in both directions. Diversions are in place using Aylesbury Road and Nutley Lane. Motorists are asked to avoid the area as the Merrion Road will remain closed for a number of hours.

    Any persons who may have witnessed this collision are asked to contact Donnybrook Garda Station at 01 - 6669200 or the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111, or any Garda station.

    I was talking to some people who work right where it happened. Apparently it was really serious. Hope he's okay.

    Just heard on phantom news that "a female cyclist has been left fighting for her life after the collision"
