I regularly trim my hair, I shampoo with a little shampoo and quite a bit of conditioner every 3 days. (Every 2 and my hair is like straw). I make sure the conditioner is spread through evenly and I leave it for 5 minutes before rinsing with very cold water and comb through with a wide-toothed comb. I let it air dry. I rarely use heat on my hair, (maybe once a month) and I use a leave-in conditioner. My hair is kinda wavy but looks ratty and when it dries it looks like straw and feels sort of fluffy. What am I doing wrong? Any tips from experience in getting smooth silky hair? HELP!! :pac:

i use the aussie hair care range and feel it is great. I use the shampoo and conditioner and the 3 minute miracle once a week. I also use the Keratase morocaan oil on my hair before i blow dry it and once it is dry i use the keratase night time leave in conditioner (cant remember the name). Hope this helps.

I used to be a total frizzball until I stumbled onto the Curly Girl method of looking after your hair. Just google the curly girl method and you will get loads of info on, a couple of really good websites with forums are http://www.naturallycurly.com/ and http://www.britishcurlies.co.uk/ which are american and british - have yet to come accross an irish one!

i have thick frizzy curly hair. all hairdressers describe it as 'difficult to manage' so i know were youre coming from. the best things ive found for reducing frizz are: dont wash too fequently and use leave in conditoner (loreal do really nice affordable ones). apart from that kerastase masque intense conditioner is amazing. styling products can make a huge difference, for me just slicking a tiny amount of mousse or bio oil over the ends makes a huge difference!

Hi, while I dont have curly hair, I have very dry frizzy hair, I find the Kerastase Moroccon Oil really good, you can use it before or after shampooing - Also once a week I leave in my conditioner over night - there is a new Irish site called www.shampoo.ie that has really good prices plus their facebook page has a discussion board that you can log questions. You should try them out

sounds a bit mad but i read an article in a magazine once about using over ripe bananas as a conditioning mask in your hair apparently it has amazing results. All you do is let the bananas get black and then mash them up and put them on your hair after shampoo. might be a bit messy!! VO5 hot oil is great iv used it a few times when my hair is dry & it has worked wonders. you should also comb the conditioner through your hair after application and never rub the towel through your hair as it creates more frizz.
maybe it would also be a good idea to visit your local chemist and get some specialist vitamins the ones with horse hair extracts are supposed to be the best.
