Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Guys, just a little heads up, I've had a rep and that door and informed him as I will all reps, I will not be switching back due to the direct debit requirement. I understand your trying to safeguard your money and ensure payment but use a credit bureau do your credit checks, I've never missed any utility bills since buying my first home in 2001, I will not switch provider ever while a DD requirement is mandatory for discounts, I suggest everyone does the same

You still get a discount tho, you just get a bigger one for DD

    Hi BobMc,

The reason for direct debit requirement in order to obtain discounts is: it is the most cost-effective way for ESB Electric Ireland to process payment, and the savings made can be passed on to the customer in the form of price reductions.

Customers of ESB Electric Ireland for 12 months or more may be entitled to a discount without requiring direct debit, but if those customers opt for direct debit also, they will benefit from a further discount, as noted by starfish12.

Customers of ESB Electric Ireland for less than 12 months would be required to pay by direct debit to avail of discounts of up to 14%, and further discounts again if they switch to gas provided by ESB Electric Ireland.

    Regards,
    Una
