I've never been given money from them. I've been given a loan. Big difference, which I clarified, unlike you who refuses to answer legitimate questions, such as how is it so difficult to pay off 500 euro in nearly a year, when even someone on the dole could do that?
Mine is also a loan as I'm paying it back.

So...you're exactly the same as me.

    off the high horse duckey

I to have a job and do my best to help out, I also take a strong role in the family buiss. My parents have money they choose to give some of it to me while I'm in Uni so I can have live a little, I have every intention of looking after them when I am older but now I take and am eternally grateful for all the money they give me. I look forward to helping them enjoy their old age.

Is there something so wrong with this? Should I refuse their help so I can come on here and preach about how I am so great because my I never took a cent of my aul pair? Every family is different.

That's the thing - you're not paying it back. You gave her a hundred euro. you're nowhere close to paying it back and when the opportunity arose to pay it back, you chose to spend the money on a holiday.

No, but you make a point of saying that you intend to pay it back as soon as you're in a financial position to do so. The OP IS in a financial position to do so, but chooses to go on holiday instead. Sorry if it makes me sound preachy but I choose to spend my money on necessities and not buy luxuries when I'm in debt.

Oh but I am paying it back.

If we both take a 1k loan out from the bank/mother, and I agree agree to a 5 year repayment plan and you agree to a 1 year repayment plan, we've both got a loan but we're paying it back at a different rate.

You're forgetting a I'm a student who can only work twice a week. Not easy.

Working two days per week = 100 minimum. Easy to pay off 50 per month.

Everyone else has expenses and my point is - if you can afford a holiday, you can afford to repay your mother.
