I'm coming around to your house to shove a copy of Chrono Trigger down your throat, the crappy PS1 port as well so you won't even gain a nice version for your pain.

    Dear Square Enix:

    More Einhander, less Kingdom Hearts.

Actually, Kingdom Hearts.... I've never seen a game series go so downhill in all my life. It started as a bit of fanservice where disney characters and FF charactersd fought together and now has become the most convoluted mess of a story ever with the FF and Disney characters taking a back seat to a bunch of emo's. In fact I'd go so far as the to say that the story in Kingdom Hearts is far and away the worst thing ever written by man, and I'll include erotic fanfiction there as well because KH is basically.

Still, they're kind of fun in a guilty way even if you end up with a red head forehead from facepalming at the cutscenes.

Here's the Expedia unit after adding another row of shelves. Bought a smaller expedia unit and gutted it as this avoided a lot of extra woodwork and painting. Added a strip of hardboard to the back of 4x4 addon as well to stop carts falling down the back.
Baskets across the bottom are great for controllers and power bricks etc..

Not sure what the fill the 3DO sized hole on the left with yet :)

What's the best eeprom programmer to get for general use with various arcade pcb's?
I know this was discussed before but I cant remember the model that someone posted that they used.

Yes, very telling that they still haven't mentioned a price. They have said they want to make it more affordable and available to a wider audience. I predict it will cost no more than €149.99, if it does then it wont sell well. If they can get it to 89.99 then it's happy days.

€89.99 would be a definite buy for me. Just hard to see anything labelled as Neo Geo being that cheap :o

But it's built by Blaze so there is a chance it'll come in under €100(their stuff is usually cheapish, but also feels it). But i just have a feeling its going to be €149.99. If it hits €200 then most people will skip it me thinks.

    Edit:
If they can build this for £39.99 and make a profit then they should be able to build a much higher quality product for a few quid more and still keep it under £100 sterling at least.

Yep agreed. The price tag will have to be a nice payoff between affordability, reliability & useability. I can't see it coming cheap, & if it does, it'll be for a reason :(

Blaze being the manufacturer - is that a good or bad thing though? Are those cheapy handheld things they make actually any good? Does anyone here use one?

We're already into Q2 and no mention of a price or any videos of it in action online? Dodgy.

I have a couple of their hand helds and one of their standard consoles.
Build quality is generally low, screen quality on the hand helds is a joke and the abilities of the emulation is certainly not great.

But if they're willing to put the effort in and have a larger budget to spend per machine they could manufacture something decent, I think/hope.

    Edit:

I replaced the screen on this one and you can see the cheapness of the case.

Sorry to hear that man. Was it the patient himself that attacked?

A bad incident happened down in Cork University Hospital lately
A man went crazy and attacked nurses with an iron bar I think, they had to lock themselves into a room which he then tried to break down with a fire extinguisher.

Took a while for security to arrive, as there's possible less on due to cut backs.

Must be a tough place to work during a recession.

Zak and Wiki is a joy, confined to bargain bins for years. Don't let the cutesy visuals turn you off a very clever puzzler.

Also: Sin & Punishment 2, No More Heroes... Also all those Nintendo ones.

I'd recommend Fragile Dreams, one of the most emotionally involving games this generation and criminally ignored. The combat is crap but narratively it makes up for it amazingly as well as the visuals. Ico-esque:

Also Opoona. A very unfairly ignored RPG which is a bit like Earthbound. amazing soundtrack:

Plenty of other great games on it, it's a great console for the niche stuff. I'd recommend Endless Ocean, A boy and his blob, Batman Brave and the Bold, Boom Blox, Muramasa and Little Kings Story.

Also Xenoblade is the best JRPG since Persona 4.

Just got sniped on 3 2 auctions for Saturn games. May well be 3...

Same guy each time. Nothing rare or uncommon, but the combined packaging rate was £1 extra per item.

Its high time I started buying NTSC anyway. Thanks auction sniper guy.:D

Rememer that bried period in 2009 where Zak and Wiki was coming to the end of its first print run, so game stores were offering quite a bit for it in trade, on the assumption it was going to be rare?

    Yeah, not so much.

In regards to Wii titles worth your time:

Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Awesome tag-fighter, bit of a throwback . You can pick up a stick for it quite cheaply too.

All of the Sega lightgun offerings go ways to justifying the Wiimote's existence.

I've been looking for TvC yesterday as I seen the stick and game about a month ago for €35 in HMV alas it's gone now:(

When I last had a Wii I had a Sega light gun game it was reasonable and cheap enough so I'll be on the look out for any of them.

Was gonna pick up Links Crossbow Training aswell, is it any use?

It's pretty much a tech/hardware demo for the Wii/Zapper. It's a fun lightgun/mini-game thing, but best picked up on the cheap.
