Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's pretty much a tech/hardware demo for the Wii/Zapper. It's a fun lightgun/mini-game thing, but best picked up on the cheap.

Watched it on youtube earlier, looks crap gonna give it a miss.

Gonna get Batman the Brave & the Bold, Sin & Punishment when I get some dollars next week.

I picked up a good few NTSC snes carts for a modded snes I'm due to receive next week. Do you think the best option is to cut up the snes and be done with it? Or buy an adapter, or just use the pcb's and leave them in their cases when not being used? I'd say the NTSC carts make up like 2% of my collection and I'd rather not hack the hell of the cartridge slot...

I'd recommend Fragile Dreams, one of the most emotionally involving games this generation and criminally ignored. The combat is crap but narratively it makes up for it amazingly as well as the visuals. Ico-esque:

You've got to love Legend of Dragoons fanbase. One of them just commented on a review I did on my blog ages ago:

'fag :) LOD is the best rpg of its time, maybe second to FFVII'

I should thank him for backing up everything I said about the game.

It did get a PAL release, never seen it in the shops but it should be cheap on amazon, I got it there.

Still on lvl 2 as I haven't got back to it yet. Do you have a Mage in your group? Are they useful as they skill up? Mine only have Fire spell atm.

Well that fire spell is pretty damn useful when going up against a group of enemies as it will hit all four at the same time while your warriors can only hit one at a time.

Those giant spiders are buggers for poisoning you so have a poison shield spell is very handy.

The puzzles get really tricky too... stuck on level 5 arsing around with a teleporter and haven't a clue what I'm doing.

This game is great! Just started it an hour ago. Down to level 2. Walked into a room and got mangled by three guys with spears.

A mage seems like a must this early on. That fire spell is a godsend.

My minotaur is seriously tough now. Many a time he's left fighting on his own with all the other guys dead and still manages to pull through.

Is there a way of bringing people back to life? For some reason I was thinking it was one of those 'when they're dead, they're dead' cases and reloaded an earlier save.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭DinoRex

If you get to a crystal.

Sometimes this involves a lot of back tracking, even to a previous floor too. But in general once monsters are dead they stay dead. I've only encountered respawning once and that was because you needed the monsters to solve a puzzle.

Apparently getting a Crystal will also regen all party health? Haven't tested it out yet.

Yep. You can use them multiple times too. Reading reviews it seems a lot of people seemed to have missed the point of the crystals.

I'm pretty sure I found a note by the first one that explained them.

I don't think they help with hunger though, which I get a feeling is going be a much bigger issue as you get further into the dungeon.

They had a copy of Paper Mario GC on prominent display for 49.95 with 'rare!' on the pricetag.

Wasnt completely convinced since they had at least two other copies hidden behind other games :pac:

I think that the Irish Association of Optometrists would take issue with the Condemned C**shots cover!
I was going to look for a Bayonetta inspired cover but figure the real game is titillating enough!
I too would rent the Metroid one, to my shame... :(

It seems some folk were only saving their progress using those Crystals too? Feck that, I'm saving after every successful mob defeat using the menu. :o Actually I must read the manual see if it explains more, downloaded it from gog but forgot to look at it.

I've not finished the game myself but I had someone from boards thank me for recommending it to him. Said the combat was rubbish but the narrative and atmosphere made it one of the best gaming experiences ever and the ending was magnificent. Must play it myself... but bloody xenoblade is so long!

You can't. You can trade them for Wii points but they haven't implimented a way to trade them for 3DS points yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,041 ✭✭✭pdbhp

Says here I can, prob shít though but I want to try it.

Edit: seems to only be in the USofA horrible fat bastárds the lot of them:(

If you've got a bunch of Club Nintendo Coins burning a hole in your virtual pocket, you could do worse than spend them on this month's selection of downloadable games. For April, Nintendo is offering Kenji Eno's WiiWare puzzle game You, Me, and the Cubes; the WiiWare bike retread Excitebike World Rally, and a 3DS-only download of DSiWare shmup Metal Torrent (all right, they can't all be winners).

As always, these games are also available through your console's online store for regular money, but you have the extra option of trading your fake Club Nintendo currency this month.

    Wow.

Was DinoRex's development led by George Lucas when he decided the world needed a prequel for Primal Rage after being inspired by what a foley artist did with only a broken windscreen wiper?

And if that is the case why haven't I seen merchandise, eh?

DinoRex was created when God had intercoursal relations with a velociraptor. It was an illegitimate birth, and God didn't want to piss off the T-Rex, so he banished his offspring to Earth where an employee of Taito found it on a pillow outside the company offices. Mistaking it for a burrito - DinoRex is Japanese for burrito - he tried to microwave it but the microwave was stopped by divine intervention when only the sound chip had partially melted. Realising his mistake, the employee instead released the game. It languished in obscurity until a bunch of drunken Irish oafs discovered it one eve and formed a small but passionate cult to celebrate its existence.

This is the word of RAWWWWRRR.

Woke up to find I had bough aliens infestation for the DS. It's going for an absolute steal on amazon.co.uk, something like £8.99. I should let sleep deprived retr0 do my shopping more often.
