My name is Valleyoftheunos and I own a pair of skinny jeans. I also like to cycle ironic bikes.

Thankfully I am above 13 stone and thus not eligible to be a hipster.

My girlfriend wont let me wear the jeans when we are out together and she has never seen the bikes.

I've an american 60 GB PS3 still going strong. I dread if it ever goes because I won't get an american one back and Sony more than likely won't touch it.

I've an original 60GB PS3 still going strong since the day it was released myself.

Upgraded the internal drive to a 640GB and put some decent thermal paste in there and it doesn't heat up quite as much(so doesn't make as much racket).

Sony did a crappy job applying the paste in the first place, really amateur job on it so I recommend the thermal paste upgrade to everyone.

It's very cheap to grab a bit of Arctic Silver from ebay.

I think I'd hire someone to do the paste thing, I don't do well with consoles' innards, as my poor Dreamcast can attest to (she's still going, praise the Sega gods). My original launch model YLODed after 6 hours of consecutive play. Sony replaced it for free, out of warranty-the big, awesome bastards. Mind, I'd long moved out when it got shipped back, only picked it up again this weekend.

Found the Wii DVD drives to be really flaky. If I used it as much as the 360 I'm sure it would have died years ago. I'm playing of a HD from now on, same with the PS2.

Is anyone playing Dark Souls on the xbox? I can't imagine it works as well... Those shoulder buttons can't be easy to use for basic attacking and blocking..

I am. It works great! I didnt play demons souls so cant really compare... But i couldnt imagine using a playstation controller for any game in this day and age. The design is a few generations out of date. Ergonomics ftw!

If you ask me, its a "waste" of money to buy up stuff that you don't really want or need at a given time. Its easy to end up taking games collecting a little too seriously - its only games at the end of the day - a hobby, and its important that people keep it that way lest it take over a signifant chunk of your wages which is not going to do anyone any good.

Seem to remember another poster here making noises about how ridiculous Retro game collecting is, you're not him are you?
And its probably for the best if you never come to a Beers in my house, if the collection of masses of cool Retro goodness is not your thing, could send you right over the edge!

I'm going into 'La la la not listening' mode for a few weeks until I get to play Gotham Asylum. Can't wait to play it, but with a convenient birthday around the corner and a compulsion bordering on addiction for Dark Souls, it shall be early November before I get to dig in.

Reviews are absurdly positive though, so consider me HYPE, yo.

Sim Mid-Life Crisis is apparently well worth a purchase.

Lots of replayability too, due to various win conditions: 'Buy a Porsche', 'Have regrettable affair with person half your age', 'Quit job and go back to college to study horticulture' etc... Just want to watch out for various pitfalls: Last of the Summer Wine repeats are a bugger.

Actually I'm more of a Antiques Roadshow, Songs of Praise and Matlock repeats fan, but point taken....

I think you may be guilty of underrating it there, AA was a masterpiece imo, Probably my favorite game in the last 10 years, perhaps longer. If I weren't broke Arkham City would be an instant purchase this Friday.

The boss battles were absolutely terrible and the combat was very simplistic if fun. Also thought the scarecrow levels weren't as good as people made them out to be. It had a good game world to explore and it was lots of fun and most of all the stealth combat was spectacularly good and I wish there was an awful lot more in it. It was great but had problems and wasn't perfect. If it didn't have batman in it I'd say it wouldn't have reviewed as well. It's in the high 80's for me, not the 95+ that some places gave it, that would be reserved for near faultless games.

By the sound of reviews, Arkham City improves upon everything. The sheer empowerment of AA was spectacular. A bigger, better sequel? Insignificant flaws be damned! I just want to leap off tall buildings as Batman, and glide to safety while kicking someone to the ground!

Valid points although I wouldn't say the boss battles were terrible.

I thought the combat was perfect, neither button masher nor an overly complex combo system, I thought it had a great balance of finesse, timing and cracking skulls. its rare to find a game where having 20+ enemies coming at you has you rubbing your hands together with glee.

For me where the game excelled was the exploration, riddler finding and over all atmosphere all of it was near perfect and compelling with Mark Hamill's Joker as the cherry on top.

I don't think really there is such a think as a perfect game, not with the scope and complexity of games now, they all contain flaws in somerespect but I felt Batman AA's were very small. That said I don't believe in handing out perfect scores either, AA would be a 90 though, only Uncharted would come close to that this generation, although in fairness there is plenty of stuff I've not played.

Well I still think it's a good game but the way people go on about it is a bit much sometimes.

I usually hate collection hunts in games but I did do all the riddler trophies and found it great fun solving clues to their locations rather than having the collectibles strewn randomly throughout the levels.

As a boss battle connoisseur I stand by the boss battles being rotten. Not MGS4 rotten but close.

I'llpick the new one up at some point, just dark souls and my DS game hunt takes priority.

I too found Batman to be over rated... I enjoyed it, but I've never been inclined to go back and play it again.

Bah... ordered a CD32 off eBay a month ago, got on to the seller yesterday to let him know I hadn't received it yet and he said it had it had been returned saying my delivery address couldn't be found.

It was my exact address, couldn't be more precise without writing directions for the postman on there.

Anyone have any experience with An Post fecking up like this? Any chance they have a mechanism for me to be compensated? As I'm down about €30 now and looking at another €30 to have the thing delivered again.

I get mail all the time and the building, while new, has been there for about 3 and a half years.
