Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Oh... Miyamoto is stepping down...

    http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/12/miyamoto-interview/

I think it's good news... I want to see what he can come up with now and see where younger developers can take the popular franchises without him.

But I can't imagine it will do Nintendo's beleaguered stocks much good...

Well, given Mario Kart 7 was done without much input from him and it turned out to be one of the best of the series, I'm not sure it's such a bad thing.
Nintendo should be like Disney, regardless whether Walt is in charge, or dead, or frozen in some storage facility in California it rumbles on, producing quality products, some of which turn out to be best in show.

Unless it's the early to mid 80's Disney....
And we get Black Cauldron or Basil the mouse detective :(

Seems Nintendo are saying it's BS now.

Would like to see him out of his management position and back as a director.

Anyway Nintendo have more than enough talent to keep going.

Black Cauldron was one of the few Disney films I liked as a kid. It didn't have a fecking songs in it!

I've never understood why they think children should be big fans of musicals.

    Yahey roll on next year!!

Cave has announced that it will be porting its Xbox 360 shoot ‘em up Akai Katana Shin to the PlayStation Vita. The director of the game, Hiroyuki Kimura, also been revealed, in an interview with Spong, that the port will utilise the PS Vita’s dual analogue sticks and also expressed his interest in the system’s touch controls.

There is a gameplay video of the Xbox 360 version of Akai Katana Shin after the break which you can watch for an idea of how it will look.

She's said on twitter that there's a possibility of it continuing. I hope so. She's very clam and not as stupidly excitable as most video game podcast hosts.

Batman Arkham City: Lockdown just hit the app store if anyone with an iPad or iPhone is interested.

Just grabbed it myself and it looks pretty well on the iPad 2.
Plays kind of like Infinity Blade but apparently there are other sections with different gameplay I've not got to yet.

one of the lads on FB sent me on this, looked up the plot on wiki
While innocently reaching for some half-priced bento, Yō Satō finds himself beaten up on the floor of a supermarket. He soon learns that getting half-priced bento is an all-out brawl between students. Yō is invited to the Half-Priced Food Lovers Club by one of the top fighters, Sen Yarizui, in order to train to compete in these battles.

We could easily create an Irish version of that cartoon using a similar plot.

Except instead of half price Bento,

It would be the LIDL specials!

If it was Penneys specials it would be too violent for TV.

    Played it a tiny bit.

    €2.99 is a bit steep.

It feels like they haven't played enough iOS games as research. There are better ways to do what they're doing.

Also the music gets very annoying very quickly and there's zero sound effects if you turn it off.

Scrolling is lovely though and works well I guess...

Yeah, the arrows on the screen are a bit meh.
Still, its Dizzy and I'm glad he's back. Buy the game support the devs etc etc.

Feck sake, I noticed a weird smell off my hands and forearms today. Not sure what it was. Actually looked at them - they look like they spent a week the Sahara.

Then I remembered, last night my girlfriend put on a bit of fake tan for her work party. Nothing orange, just a little glow so she won't look like a pasty Irish lass.

Problem is, I AM a pasty Irish dude.

It seems that a 'bit' of fake tan on me looks like I cut off Ray Charles arms and took them as my own.

So basically you had a roll around with the gf while she had the tan on and forgot to wash it off. :p

I see Theme Park came out on ios this morning as well.

It's freemium to play but some of the in app purchases are pricey to say the least(60 dollars for one of the rides )

If only. Then I'd be wearing this tan as a badge of honour.

No, it was more along the lines of 'Hey, can you help me apply this fake tan?' - hands glove.

'Sure! I mean, I'm wearing a glove, I won't end up looking like Snooki from Jersey shore, right?'

    :(

/leaves for Jersey Shore, never to return.

Good news. Vita will support more than one PSN account just have to swap out memory cards.

    Sourcey

"Your PSN ID is bonded to your memory card and your memory card is bonded to your Vita." That's the official line from Sony America reps regarding the PlayStation Vita's claimed one console, one PSN account situation. SCEA associate brand marketing manager Crystal MacKenzie clarified to Wired's Game|Life blog that, yes, you can have multiple PSN accounts, each tied to a memory card. Should you choose to move any of those accounts from one card to another, however, things get a bit more laborious.

"If you wanted to change different PSN users but use the same memory card, you would need to go factory reset," MacKenzie said, which sounds to us like a memory card reformat would be required before swapping accounts from one card to another. As far as having multiple PSN accounts on one console, though, Vita users are apparently limited by their ability to purchase more memory cards. And if one memory card isn't enough for your PSN account, it can be spread across multiple cards.

To recap, you can employ multiple PSN accounts on a single Vita using multiple memory cards, but will have to reformat the memory card should you choose to migrate a PSN account from one to another. Still bizarre? Yes, for sure, but it sure beats only being able to use a single PSN account.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

Price of the cards though is ridiculous. I'm still getting a Vita though regardless.

They had me at "Cave". :o

How on earth do you save in Dizzy? Are you supposed to complete the entire game in a single sitting and not use your phone or tablet for anything else?
