Similar to in fifth year when the teacher told us "It's not really a test, it's more of a 'maths quiz'."

A feckin' maths quiz that was used for our Christmas grades.

Haha no, they give you 25-40 basic questions and if you get less than whatever mark they recommend you use the maths learning centre and attend support tutorials.

Was SO close getting into the lodge in UL yesterday. SO SO SO close. And as I walked through, they stopped my friend coz she was too drunk so then I didn't go in :( sad times for soccy. It turned out to be a good night in the end, just the 'would have been highlight' didn't go to plan. Oh well. There'll be more nights..

Yeah, totally sickening, I reckon I did well enough because it was all hons maths but still I'd say it was an awful shock to people who had never done it before.

I'll give you over dramatic :p

Although it will be slightly comical to see some scores I'd say. Technological maths, what a cop out.

I've got that guilty urge to study I only ever get when I don't have anything to study for. Where were three weeks ago when you could have been useful?!

Couldn't you just go over things you learned last year and haven't been tested on in a while?

Must be awful embarrassing to have a really low score though and everyone looking at it and laughing though. Still think i wouldn't have been too unreasonable to have separate tests for higher and ordinary. What's the point of asking OL students about logs or integration?

(poor RHunce has to endure my whining about little tests like this on a daily basis :P)

I could, I was more just complaining about how I only get motivated to study the second my exams are over

Hey chill! You are going to college - it will be a blast. How about posting a thread on the DIT section here there is bound to be some chefs (I'm presuming its Chefing btw and not martial arts )....

BTW the DIT is the least organised bunch I have ever encountered.

Been there, it might sound dramatic when you say it but I know how it feels. Sickens you, doesn't it? People can be really shallow and nasty sometimes.

Ya I literally feel sick. I know exactly. I can't get over it especially since the day before I did the really stupid thing a friend of mine was killed suddenly.

That's the point of standardised testing :P they wanna see what everyone can do. The days of honours and pass are loooooooooooooooong gone!

What's the story with the Lodge anyway? half the people say it's the best place ever, the other half say it's absolutely crap...

But both groups will be doing the exact same module, yes? ... i.e. there isn't a higher and ordinary version of the course?

And some people who did OL will have started in HL and dropped at some point and may well have enough covered to act as a foundation for this module.

I'll stop being logical now, I'm beginning to sound like Da ... someone I know who has nothing whatsoever to do with C&H ... >_>

One of the girls has my keys from last night so now if I leave my room I won't be able to get back in. I can't find her anywhere and I just missed a call from her but have no credit to call her back. I also have to get breakfast but can't get into my kitchen cause I have no keys and I have to go in 15 minutes. No-one else is around because everyone is at their registration days so I have to eat chocolate for breakfast!

    tl;dr:
BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (Ciara is hungry and will soon be locked out of her room)

Thanks, might take you up on that :) Right now I'm just not dealing with it at all just doing everything I can not to think about it. I know if I think about it I'll just break down and I've still two days of work to get through!

Had that in first year and this year it seems even worse. I'm waiting for this Friday(repeat results) to find out that they all got in, College wouldn't be the same if they had to repeat.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,109 ✭✭✭QueenOfLeon

We lost 8 out of our class last year, some due to failing and some moving, but it looks like it'll be a lot more this year. I knew there were loads sitting repeats but didn't think there'd be that many who'd fail after that! :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,089 ✭✭✭jefreywithonef

Fupping rain. Didn't get to sleep til six last night because of my feverish state (caused by getting drenched at least twice on Monday). Now I just trudged into college and yet again I'm ringing wet. The fact that my house is heated by electric radiators compounds matters since they're absolutely shít for generating enough heat!

Grah, would UCC just release the frickin' results of my repeat exams? Whatever the outcome is, it can't be as bad as sitting around and having a botanical garden's worth of butterflies somersaulting around my stomach each time I develop a compulsive, surging urge to check their website. Do not want very much at all... though I do very much hope it went okay. I tried really hard, but it didn't go as well as I had hoped and I'm really not sure what to expect and suddenly run-on sentences. :/
