Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oh god that seems like so long ago now at this stage, seriously, what happened between the ages of 14-19? I'm still waiting for the reality that I've finished first year of college to hit me tbh.

But in yaahh news, a girl that I used to be pretty close to but haven't seen roughly a year, has passed weeks of training and exams to become cabin crew. She realy wanted nursing after the LC but didn't have enough points so the last thing I'd heard was that she was in a nursing PLC course but I know she'll make aaaaamazing cabin crew. She would have been a great nurse too but she's one of the nicest, friendliest girls I've ever met. Delighted.

The top floor is a studio. We discovered that there was another colour printer up there in second year (all printers are colour now). People just sort of strewn around drawing things, like they were in a French arthouse film. :pac: Very.. relaxed atmosphere to the place. Though I think architecture is being scaled back with cutbacks etc etc.

From Coppers to Cork Airport though. Going to be a long day. :D

Nope the euro came in in January 2002 yeah? I would've been in senior infants, don't think money was touched on a whole lot at that point!

For my communion I got one of the little "euro coin bags" off my uncle. One of each type, to get you used to the euro! Memories.

Nope! The euro had just come out, so post offices sold these coin bags so that people got used to the coins before it was legal tender.

You collect coins? Why am I not surprised. :pac:

But I lost a bag of the coolest coins ever

I think someone took them out of my bag when I was in school a few years ago

It was the most amazing coin collection ever

I had coins from all over Asia and old currency from Europe

I even had a Swaziland coin

    It was so cool

    It had a ridged edge

Like someone draws a wavy line then connects it to make a circle

Now I just have a few euro coins from around Europe Canadian and American coins and not much else

However I have been collecting American millennium coins since I was 6.....I have a map you can put the coins into for each state and everything (in the new millenium America started making a coin for each state).....so yeah

Im just like the coolest person ever

EDIT: Tried to find the Swahili coin on Google, its the one furthest right

    8_10_12_peaks.jpg

Alsohad a Korean one too

DOUBLE EDIT: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOURE NOT SURPRISED

    :pac:

I remember there being a moment last year when we were in LC there was a group of us just sitting around at lunch when we suddenly realised that the majority of the first years were born in 2000, when we'd started junior infants in 1999. Like some of my earliest memories, if not my earliest, are from the New Year's Eve between the two.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,590 ✭✭✭Pigwidgeon

I need to find a new forum... I'm so old... I was in first year in 2003. I clearly remember the punt, I also remember the millennium and being helped to read the first Harry potter book when it came out in 1997.

They're moving me to a different shop in town in ten days. Due to the "restructuring of staff and management between shops" six months ago I'd have raised bell about this. But all of the old guard have either been moved, sacked or left themselves because of the changes the new management has brought in all new staff here now. All of them suck ups and lickarse managers. I'm escaping all the politics all the backstabbing all the horribleness that the shop has become. The shop they're sending me to is where they've sent all the other old staff from our shop. Gonna see all my friends again. Dunno if this is supposed to be a punishment or what but I ain't gonna complain
