    Substance ?

Before you complain about other people's grammar, you might
consider the manner in which you lay out your own comments.

Have you heard of paragraphs ?

I have to say that I found Lucinda Creighton to be quite arrogant on the VB show tonight. As a representative of government on a widely viewed programme that is broadcasted live two days before the polls open, she came across rude and smug. I do not see what there is to be smiling about. FG need to revisit there PR policy. Enda Kenny the leader of the country has refused to enter into a televised debate and yet someone within the government sees fit that Ms. Creighton is the best option to debate the yes side! I could not believe how dismissive she was of VB when he put the question to her of a “Plan B”. It’s not good enough to say there is no “Plan B” the job of the government is to look at all options and govern (steer) the country on the basis of democratic policy. If a “No” vote is passed they need to govern the country in the best possible form. I am not saying that I totally agree with the “No” side, however they were more dignified and possibly spoke in a language that represents their constituency. Ms. Creighton spoke as if she was addressing the European parliament, thrashing it out with the boys, so to speak. She also seemed to pick on peoples credentials rather than engage in a professional debate.

More substance in the bulk of words than anything substantial in the words themselves.

    Exactly, Read your own posts.
"Doesn’t mean you don't have to be angry all the time" = this would imply that one is happy and I think it would also indicate your level of education.

Forgot your full stop there Mrs Angry...

    Four posts of substance??

Don't make me laugh, you're one of these posters that comes around every election/referendum time with a particular agenda and won't be seen again post Friday's vote...

Well spotted, good to see you are increasing your awareness.

“How the hell were we supposed to know your gender Mrs 4 Posts?”

We= Group? or dare I say party
    Mrs= More assumptions

Telekon an average of 5 posts a day since joining, 80% of which are between 8am and 5pm, even higher if you condense it into a five day week. Would it be bold of me to assume that you have a lot of time on your hands? Public service? Or maybe even the DOLE. I now understand why you are voting yes.

Lapin an average of 7 posts a day, need I imply more.

“Don't make me laugh, you're one of these posters that comes around every election/referendum time with a particular agenda and won't be seen again post Friday's vote...”

The vote is on Thursday not Friday, lay of the Royal Dutch.

That post hurts my eyes. What a mess.

A product of the anger no doubt. So, so angry...:(

But I am now convinced by your argument and will be voting No! The personal attacks and insults against me have worked!! Why don't you now try it on the street to sway the general public... :D

PS. grammar mistake number 2: there's two f's in 'off'. It should be lay 'off' the Royal Dutch. I thought you'd like to know since you got so upset earlier about it...

Lay off the aggression, or you'll be taking a break from this forum.
Also stop with the whacky formatting too. It's very hard to read.

Please familiarise yourself with the forum charter.

    OK, well spotted AGAIN!!!

What goes around comes around, I suppose.
I will lay off the defensive attitude. I will be back though for some constructive chat.

    Take Care, GROGAN

Apologies, just having a bit of banter. Will not happen again.

    :D

No probs. Banter is great (it's what the site is all about!), but aggression detracts from it and just gets peoples' backs up.

    Welcome to Boards. :o

After seeing Pearse Dotherty, Claire Daly, Mick Wallace & Declan Ganley; I don't who is more worse at not answering the questions.

Richard Boyd Barrett, he is terrible at answering hard questions.

Pascal Donoghue, Damien English (or Urdu) and Ms Creighton are every bit as bad but at least they go on and make an attempt unlike Enda Kenny.

It's the men who get ripped off by the Brothel Madams that I feel sorry for.. we need to get Tina Leonard to look in to that one..

Oh please these women are feminists, while some women are trafficed, a lot of women do it to make money, for example in Aus its legal and women do it for the money, so i think these 2 women are painting them all with the same brush.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 12,333 ✭✭✭✭JONJO THE MISER

At least 1 of the women is talking sense.

It's a remarkably civilised and grown up conversation those ladies are having.

A welcome change from the standard of the treaty debates.

Ruhama do a lot of crucial work to be fair, but their refusal to accept that nobody would enter prostitution willingly is infuriating.

Exactly cant believe how ignorant they are.

Poor aul Vincent hasn't a clue what to say. Can only hear him coughing every so often.

Quiet a good balanced debate all the same.

The prostitution ring that were raided yesterday across Ireland is very welcome.

I do find however about that new Ruhama poster, the one with a woman and the barcode placed "down below", is very creepy. I found that poster placed in Dublin Bus a few weeks ago while going home. I looked at the poster and I got a horrible feeling off it.

I think the notion of a young child asking their own mother of why is that woman placed there will probably lead to more complicated questions.

Exactly cant believe how ignorant they are.

It's the same with many other type of -ist groups. They only see one side of the argument.

And lets not even begin to talk about militant 'ists'.

I think they need to separate their feminist, Catholic agenda from the work that they do.. And I dont like their ad on the radio at the moment, they feel like they can say anything because of who they are... If anybody else treated prostitution in such a flippant manner they would be on to the BAI.

I dont think its balanced at all, 2 of these women cant get there heads around that a good percentage of women go into escort work of there own free will and to make money.

Julia Roberts seemed happy enough in 'Pretty Woman', to be fair.

Two of them women are prudes, petty the men there married to.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,095 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

In an ideal world a prostitute would be part of this debate to be fair. But I can't really blame anyone for not wanting to get part.

Given that it was Richard Gere, I'd say he was only booking her for a chat anyway..
