The handling of the Household Charge from the beginning has been appalling. People should have been given the option of paying this in their local Post Office. I received my second warning letter today even though I paid the charge before the deadline

Paul Mcsweeny outlined the reason why people couldn,t pay in the post office in an Interview earlier this year.

Out of Interest if you still have the second letter-could you please upload a scan of it here, just so people will know what contents can be expected on the second letter-without your name blackened out of course.

The VB show last night was shocking viewing. The stand in presenter was very bad and could do with some media training. There was no flow to it at all. Marcella from FG came across as a right battle axe attacking every one lol...

It's not just Alison O'Connor, who struggled a little at times last night in the presenter's chair, but it's very unfair (and unprofessional) for the public to have to endure wannabee chat-show hosts as they learn their 'craft'.

You're also dead right about the FG matron who seemed to think that a current affairs show should be like Dail Eireann where our public representatives read pre-prepared scripts onto the record and then go home and have their tea.

Interrupted on live TV, lively interaction between guests - heaven forfend!

Given Browne's own political views, it's a shame he can't create one job with an enthusiastic, young deputy presenter who would welcome a 'break' in getting exposure on national TV...

First rule of Broadcasting - don't give an enthusiastic, young, potentially replacement a chance to shine when you go on holidays.

I think all of tonight's guests must have their own dressing rooms in TV3 judging by the amount of times they appear on the show.

*Oh, I forgot, TV3 probably don't have dressing rooms.

Christ. Jim Power being given a platform again.

Jim 'Specky ****' Power is on so many shows I don't know how he gets any work done.

Although he would appear to be available for guest speaking http://www.jimpowereconomics.com/Jim_Power_Economics/Jim_Power_Contacts.html

For all her intelligence (the host) she just can't hide her bias. The world is a very straight forward place for the aul business types. God bless 'em.

WTF is this obsession with that charleten Jim Power. has this guy got no shame at all. one of the main government cheerleaders during the farce that was the "celtic tiger"
to see this guy still being given a platform is stomach churning in the extreme and an affront to the decent people of this country.
he can thank his lucky stars that he lives in Ireland rather than Russia or China, where by now he would've well consigned to the saltmines for many, many years.

Obviously a new fill in presenter is required for Tonight With VB.

Anyone got any good ideas and we can let TV3 know if any real good ones come up.

His turn as 'guest presenter' must be coming up soon.

After all, virtually every other regular panellist has been given a go.

It's a shame when we know how cronyism sabotaged our national economy that it should be perpetuated now on the VB Show.

It just goes to show how much of a dearth of expertise is out there when people like Jim Power are still being wheeled out on current affairs programmes. It's a bit like having Leonid Brezhnev on Russian TV in the 1990's talking about reform. Actually, Brezhnev would've made more sense because he would've been long dead by then.

Quite true indeed, on the other hand there is expertise out there but they are virtually banished from the airwaves because their views dont tally with the government spin (Morgan Kelly & McWilliams spring to mind).
Much easier wheel out the likes of Jim "soft landing" Power as he will basically tell the majority what they want to hear and will seldom upset the vested interests.
Check out some of Jim's youtube clips from a few years ago, would be hilarious but for the unfortunate fact that lots of people followed his advice.
Remember this guy had his finger on the pulse at the time and knew exactly what was going on, but preached the complete opposite to the hoardes that did not.

We bent over backwards and let the ECB ride us.
The country has been badly served by successive Governments it seems and the people are being forced to pay for their total ineptitude.
