Poor Tubs, he must be under awful pressure at this stage, there seems to be no end to the negative media reports.

Sorry MrsD but Tubs has to seriously up his game to warrant such a huge salary...

So the "sixteen weeks to save his career" thread might become a Possibility ?

I completely agree with you but just purely on a human level it must be awful hard to deal with the persistently negative reports.

He was too "RTE" (boring, safe, uncontroversial) for 2FM. He was never going to fit in.

I don't know, in my workplace you have enough negative reports (justified of course) A. You would be lucky to be there and B. You might survive there on a massive charity discount wage. I think Tubbs does not have to worry about either.

Thats the thing though...he had HUGE ratings for his breakfast show a few years back ON 2FM.:confused:

Yeah, Gerry is a massive loss to 2FM. I was big fan of Gerry's during my college days and into my early twenties but after that he started to irritate me. Having said that I absolutely loved his TV series "Ryan Confidential". I feel he would have made a better LLS host than Tubs too.

I've a short memory, forgot he was on 2FM before.

He's still commanding a huge listenership and perhaps the criticism isn't fair given that Gerry Ryan had built up a loyal following.

I have never ever listened to one interesting interview with Tubridy and don't see the attraction.

Sure at this stage people are foaming at the mouth waiting on the JNLR fgures to heckle Tubbs. Starting to grate on me.

I was never a fan of his but ya know what, this constant hammering he's getting in the media is actually making me want him to dig his heels in.

I never liked the idea of being bullied, and right now, it must suck to be him.
I think he needs to be given a chance. Couple of years, not a couple of seasons.

He's not being bullied. The ratings dropped a significant amount in the last year and the media is reporting it because he is the most high profile presenter at RTE. It seems pretty fair to me.

A few years ago Tubs could do no wrong but it would appear that he may have p1ssed off a fair few of his media colleagues somewhere along the way - the knives seem to be out for him at the moment, it appears that he has few friends in the newspaper business.

Some of the headlines have been particularly cruel though - "Radio Reject".

He lives in a house made of cash. The house is physically constructed of euro notes of various denominations and an assortment of television licences.

He sits in his big cash house. All day. Crying.
When will we stop bullying him :(:(:(

A man getting fuck loads of money who is doing his job poorly.
It's not bullying, it's fair game.

I will remind you that although RTE likes to make out that 2fm is independent, it actually receives many benefits in facilities and RTE cross promotion paid for by the poor bullied licence payer.
I don't see too many tears for them...... just jail for those who can't or won't pay.

People are about as rude to tubs as he is to his (interesting) guests!

Dont listen to his show but had heard the show on 1 and thought he was fairly good easy lisening to a certain demo, thing is the certain overpaid civil service type incompetents at RTE(carries more passengers than CIE)thought it was a good idea to send in a Terry Wogan type in to a Howard Stern like show.
Vincenzo was scheduled to be on at 11.10 last night, came on at 11.20 and scheduled to finish at 12.05,finished at 11.55 approx, what gives, and that sketch was sh*t.

Tonight will be interesting. If the TV3 news interviews are anything to go by we might have both the Count and Shane Ross on with Vincent to discuss the opportune discovery of 3.6 billion euro behind the settee.

Bonus points also for any Socialist Party or People before Profit wags who come on the show to say there should be no budget cuts whatsoever this year as a result ...

Oh, and Papandreou be trolling. Referendum? On Austerity? In Greece? :pac:

Hopefully Stephen Donnelly is on too. One of the few politicians worth listening to. I'd like to see Alan Dukes on too, just to see Vinnie talk to him like he is a stupid little child as he always does.:D

I have a funny feeling Constantin will be on talking giving out about The Department Of Finance...

Apparently, tonight Vincent is asking if we should follow the Greek example and have a referendum on our bailout deal. Eh, to put it mildly, out of his mind?

    Also, ****e line-up:
Dimitrios Tsouros, Justine Mc Carthy, Peter Browne & Dearbhail Mc Donald

How on earth is the Greek's notoriously lenient tax system the fault of other Europeans? If they were more stringent in managing their revenue, their economy might be more successful

Have to agree with the above... The man is not prepared to put ANY of the blame on the Greeks, which is ridiculous... It's the Greek's own fault that they cant pay their debts and cant balance their books.
