Love Stephen Donnolly .. he's great..

O'Donnell is good too, he looks badly briefed tonight though. Donnelly is impressive, but it's always easy to look good ranting from opposition.

He uses too many hand gestures and puts them over in front of people to stop them talking. It's a sign of arrogance. I'd nut him.

Love the way the Sun and Star seem to be in a parallel universe.
Sinead O Connor's nuptials being the most pressing issue for their readers.

Might be better off, who knows. :pac:

    http://journalist.ie/2011/06/what-is-women-on-air/
Women on Air is a voluntary networking group that runs seminars and informal training workshops to help give women the skills and confidence to go on radio and television. It was started in summer 2010 by journalist and broadcaster Margaret E. Ward (Irish Times, Sunday Times, Newstalk, RTE).

Dear god, does there have to be an organisation for everything.. ????

We should form an organisation to train the trainers of Women on Air. Might get a big grant too.

This must be shocking to hear for the older generation that grew up with McQuaid.

    Must tumble down,
And in the dust be equal made
With the poor crooked scythe and spade.

Archbishop McQuaid subject of child sex abuse complaints
TWO CHILD sex abuse complaints against former Catholic archbishop of Dublin John Charles McQuaid, as well as a separate “concern”, were brought to the attention of the Murphy commission, which investigated the handling of clerical child sex abuse complaints in the Dublin archdiocese. One complaint alleges abuse of a 12-year-old boy by Archbishop McQuaid in 1961.

He's been dead since 1973... !!!.... How the hell did it take so long for these accusations to arise.. almost 40 years later...

You can guess, right? 'In-house' rules and secrecy for dealing with complaints until relatively recently; fear of speaking out by those alleging abuse (if they were indeed abused) etc. etc.

I wouldn't be too convinced by an argument that the likes of the Iona institute puts forward which implies it's financial opportunism. Seeing as cases like these are difficult to prosecute or sue given the length of time that has passed (and the death of the defendant.)

There was a great row on Pat Kenny's show 28th November between Iona head David Quinn and Patsy McGarry, it's on the podcast... McGarry had been on the previous week baiting David Quinn with provocative statements about the institute, so Pat gave them the chance to jump in the intellectual ring..
