The worst part is when Joe calls out the names of the roads as if we're all supposed to know them!
    Google is your friend!!

But were they really there?? I'm convinced that everything in that studio is a hologram. As Bertie would say, it's all smoke and daggers. ;)
I saw them, they were displayed on a little table in front of the panel.

Then again, I have had two glasses of wine, so my judgement might not be the best. Well it is Christmas after all :o

Yep. I saw them as well.

But I still wouldn't be surprised if they were holograms.

Yeah, that artificial fire is really annoying me!

They seem like a very ordinary couple, I mean that in the nicest possible way. Thankfully, they appear to be untouched by the likes of Terri Prone.

    It's a bit dull, alright.

Maybe one one of them will do their Party Piece in a minute, or throw on a bit of music.

Sabina reminds me of my mother, she keeps cutting across Michael D.

In fairness, not every interview should be about grilling the politician or badgering them on political points: can't speak for anyone else, but I'm enjoying watching a likeable statesman talk of his time as President. D Higgins' obvious nationalism and optimism is refreshing & infectious. They both seem like two genuine, likeable people and I'm happy Higgins got elected.

JA, this is a soft focus Christmas interview, Vinny has already said that he was meeting them to discuss how their lives have changed since Michael D became President, there will be no hard questions.

Mamma Mia over (yeh I know), so is this interview any good?

It's a bit of a coup for VB to get this interview!

Gain an insight into the thoughts of our newly-elected President, not long after one of the most public & talked-about elections in years? Seems like a great bit of TV to me. Not everything needs to be hardball.

Tougher questions were asked in Mamma Mia...

I think it is fairly clear from Sabina's body language that she really loves and admires Michael D.

Michael D hasnt got a word in edgewise with the missus.. He seems old and lethargic just sitting back... looks extremely tired as well..

It's has the real feel of that One To One show that RTE put out.. hosted by Aíne Lawlor..

This is all such a load of bollocks. I've always liked Michael D. Higgins. I always looked upon him as a true socialist, but I was disgusted by the way that he kept his mouth shut during the Presidential election in relation to Labour's policies once they entered Government. For that reason I couldn't vote for him in November.

I'd love if Vinnie would ask him about Joan Burton's Thatcherite policies, and her slashing of the disability allowance in the budget we've just had, but we know he ain't going to ask him that. Poetry is all very well and good but it doesn't put bread on the table.

It is definitely not the role of the President to comment on government policy. It would be inappropriate for him to criticise Joan Burton.

The President is above daily politics. I support that.

He won't receive a hard question for the next 7 years.

Yes, they would have a chef and kitchen/household staff.
