Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm not sure now! I couldn't see your name in that thread at all. No evidence of a similar thread here either, even though something tells me there was at one stage. Weird!
Wanted to show it to someone in TLL for this!

There are some threads in this forum that should be made mandatory reading in every school and college in the country. :)

Alas, the one you are looking for does not appear to exist...

Me and a mate were just chattin about the old days of playing pokemon on the aul gameboy.

Now, I have a serious craving to play it and I remember in a lecture some guy had it on his laptop, I NEED TO HAVE IT! Does anyone know a completely legitimate way of making this happen?

    Completely legitimate.....

Since there's no way to support the developers of those old games, it's not really piracy...

So, get an emulator from here, and then I would suggest searching for a ROM of the particular game you want. (Literally, google "gamename gameboy ROM")

So I dowloaded the emulator and got a rom, now how do I put them together to make it work? :P

Edit - I'm getting a dialog box saying 'Bad file size'

Open the emulator, load the rom, and are you getting the error then? What emulator are you using?

Yeah, I open the emulator, click on the rom, which is associated to open with the emulator and the get the error. The one Wnolan linked above ^

I know nothing about that one, so I'll recommend this, no clue what the solution to the error is either!

Ok that seems to work, the emulator opens but nothing happens? Just a white screen. Damn me and my technological backwardness :(

File-> Open Rom-> *Should work* Also you might have to configure your controls before you open the rom.

There should be a either a File menu where you can load the ROM or right click on the screen and you should get the options.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,891 ✭✭✭iamanengine

The screen flashes and Loaded Battery comes up which means, I have given up :P

Have you tried turning it on and off again? :P

With the emulator I linked earlier, open the emulator, right click, load rom, should bring up windows explorer, go to where you've the rom saved and double click. If that doesn't work, it's your rom that's wrong so try find another one.

I sleep all day and I sleep all night yes I know I'm wasting my life .. Just had a great dream I was off to San Francisco although Hollywood got mixed up there. We won it(was given 10 seconds the chance to say yes or no) but the conditions where the secret service escorted us at all times. Hey I'm not gonna complain was getting $2,500 for a 10 day vacation I must admit though everything was very weird the road layouts where exact but all the trees where mature and made the motorway look amazing.

There was a lad in my Home town who went missing sadly his been found not alive. It's actually very sad the more I think about it and normally stuff like this wouldn't but I guess it was because he was once my neighbour and not not much older than me I'm just finding shocking.

I think I kind of understand why my family worry so much about my safety now. And I should be texting more but have to grow up and move on at some stage and doesn't matter how far u move away even the scary stuff can happen on your front door.

Hmm my dad just text to let me know they found him :(

last night was an odd one . sitting in bourkes in town after the match my friends had just gone home and this group comes over and asks can they sit at my table, some work group, staff out with their boss. a pair of older ladies(early 40's maybe?) come to join our stimulating conversation.
One of said older ladies seems to take a shine to yours truly. her friend than informs me when the lady is inside that she's "trying me" so to speak. suddenly all the times she tried to buy me a drink or somehow found a reason to lay her hand on my leg made sense.
didn't know whether to be horrified or flattered. still don't really.

You'll receive a whole bounty of riches beyond your wildest belief!

In my Fresher-Pack I received one of those tiny shots of Red Bull they sell next to cash registers, a Pot Noodle, a tube of dried Salami, some energy pills for studying which I still have around here somewhere I think and one Mojo condom.

    UL are generous souls. :P
