Why do people do damage to themselves?

I remember when I was back in 4th class I remembered having a discussion with my best friend at the time about what we were going to do when we grew up. He said to me he's gonna try everything like his dad. Spend a period drinking doing drugs and some other stuff. At the time i thought he was joking. I met him lastnight for the first time since we finished school.

He truely stuck by what he said kinda hurt in a way. To see someone who had a good life and saw how his father turned out followed that road anyway. When I met him he was drunk been drinking all day. Kept messing with me cause I don't like cider anymore so I just had wkds and some other stuff.

After standing looking into the mirror for the last 10 mins. Kinda hit me that I don't want to get längered just to have a good time. I saw my mam die from alcohol. In a way I'm ever so greatful because she thought me a life long lesson. Drink doesn't really agree with me anyway thank god. But I can't understand why people are willing to burn their insides. Such a shame.

My brothers and sisters got me a new phone for Christmas and got me a new SIM too but I'm not using the SIM and put it in my old phone and it keeps getting texts saying stuff like "Mass with the Bishop tomorrow night at 7, Choir Practice at 5 -Frances" and "Mass at 12 tomorrow, be here beforehand -Frances"

Six months? Ha! At the start of December I wroth the date as 2010
It was right in front of a college staff member as well, she gave me a "How did you get in here?" look...

This is a yaaaah and an arrrgggh.

I completely jinxed myself by posting the following on facebook:

"So 2011 was the year I dropped out of college; worked in a theatre, stadium and pubs; survived a natural disaster; found a course I absolutely love; got over my phobia of shellfish and have tried lobster, oysters, mussels and loads of others; ate in a michelin star restaurant; made some great friends and somehow found a commis chef job. Whatever 2012 throws at me, I got that shít."

The universe if now testing me, about an hour after that I took a chunk out of my nail/finger. Then today I had to work two and a half hours later than I was meant to then when I got home and took my shoes off I stood in a puddle of dog píss.

This does not bode well for the next 12 months.

But yeah happy new year folks
