Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The good: bed, vanilla scented candle, rainfall on the roof.
The bad: a sore hip, clicking every so often.
The ugly: insect bite on other hip.

    Not too bad, I suppose.

Sounds like a mutiny to your overlordship! :(

Why do I never say no to extra hours in work, usually the money is worth it but it's a peak week so basically it's like a shift in hell, too hot, under staffed,no prep done, often managers, screaming children and many customers.though it'll be great at the end of the month since I'm getting at least 300 euro every week this month.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,399 ✭✭✭KamiKazeKitten

Aw, but just think of how happy you'll be with all the monies though! :)

I'd kill for a decent summer job but had to be away for the last 3 weeks so nothing going.

My phone isn't working! It's been on a gradual decline, but I think it's fair to say that it's beyond use since the screen stopped working. Ah well, it lasted 2 years, not too bad. But now I don't know what phone to buy :( I want to keep it under 300 so I had a look and these seemed okay...

    €180: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_ace_s5830-3724.php

    €229: http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_u-4437.php

    €279: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_v-4575.php

    €269: http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_ray-3972.php

Or maybe I should just look through the available phones again? Decisions are hard :(

Got the 2.1 in my exams, but don't feel particularly satisfied :/ It's a good result but I feel like I can do better. Yaaaarrrrrgggghhh?

Edit: Actually, I am happy enough with it, but still, definitely gonna bring it up next year!

Because of my raise/bonus I got a bit over €1500. It was amazing, the 180 hours I worked over the month seemed so much more worth it!

Where can you buy them for those prices?

And I'd recommend either the HTC or the Sony U. I'd lean towards the HTC because it has Ice Cream Sandwich and a microSD slot, whereas the U only has Gingerbread and no SD slot.

EDIT: It appears the U is getting an Ice-Cream Sandwich upgrade, so if you can live with just 4GB of memory, then that'd be the one to go for. Thinking of getting it myself now.

Not that i have a problem with CT just would seem insulting going back in a day to get a smaller one cause this replacement one is too big:(

Ordered the Sony Xperia U. :) O2 wouldn't take my money for some reason though. :P

Also, have watched about 20 episodes of Zero Punctuation on TheEscapist today. He reviews games with very long sarcastic sentences, and it's all done in a cutesy cartoon style. Some episodes I liked:

    LA Noire
    Duke Nukem Forever
    Original Deus Ex
    New Deus Ex
    And finally... Kinect!

Could happily spend the day watching these. :)

Was quoted almost 150 euro to get my hair done in a well known chain and then only 70 in my local hairdressers.PAH!good luck not like I'd be paying that much to get my mop sorted out.

I think €7 is what I spend. I get a fair bit of change out of a tenner, whatever it is.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,813 ✭✭✭Togepi

The most I've ever paid for a haircut was €25, that's pretty much standard. I might have paid €35 once (for my debs, okay!) but that's it. Anymore it's just €20. I have no idea why women's haircuts are so expensive. :(

Girls hair prices scare me. I pay about 12 quid in the barbers. boys rule girls drool

I remember being outraged having to pay €13 to pay for a haircut last year (and that was with a student discount).

In my local establishment I'm charged €8.50 which is fair enough. It should be €9 but I've built a such a rapport with the barber/hairdresser that he knocks off the fifty cent. May have actually damaged the bond the other day when I couldn't really talk as some hair got in my mouth and I didn't know what to do.
