Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gymnastics looks simple. I used to be able to do a tumble back in the day - sorted.

The most horrific thing I've ever seen was super old guy with gigantic erection at the beach in a crowd of children.

Remembering it makes me want to cry and get sick and eat ice cream all at once. :(

My jaw just dropped in shock

I was joking. :P Saw a bit of the gymnastics today, the parts I've seen involve so much strength! Seeing as I'm not very strong, am tall and therefore relatively heavy too, and have the skinniest arms ever, I think I'd be the worst gymnast ever. :L

I've missed the chocolate and milk discussion...but dark chocolate is the best, milk is good in coffee and cereal, but milkshakes are disgusting :P

I will join this Olympic team. I reckon judo would be graaand...they seem to just sit on eachother occasionally with a bit of grabbing and some points flung around here and there. I can do that! :pac:

Actually, I'd prefer the canoe slalom, just so I could go swimming in that water instead. That's all I can think about when I'm watching it...how much fun would that be?! :P

    The 400min Procrastination.

You are given a deadline of 400 minutes away to get the work done, the work takes 5 minutes to do. You must finish the work as close as possible to the 400min mark without going over.

    RULES:
    • You do not get a clock.
    • You cannot sit in one position or simply tap a biro for longer than 20 minutes at a time.
    • You get extra points for doing more creative procrastination techniques, such as creating origami from your notes, creating shapes with miscellaneous items on your desk, creating funny memes on memegenerator, devising rules to theoretical Olympic events.
    • You get fewer points for obvious procrastination techniques, such as watching Youtube videos or cycling through iTunes.

I reckon we'd have a decent shot at gold if this were introduced... I'll get on to the IOC in the morning. :P

A question im asking myself all night and no answer is coming to mind bar when i grow up i want to look at the world and cry.

and StumbleUpon managed to do just that

I went to Lourdes once it was an epic experience knowing that i could give something to those who have given me so much. In this case it was helping them get around.

Taking a step back i need to figure out where to go.... I would love to join the army protect the people around me from the evil in the world. my life is not that valuable when you know you can save many more valuable lives but im not cut out for the intense regime that the army requires. I love that you have to be neat and up at all hours in the morning.

So then i thought why not be a police officer. Getting to protect those closer to home. Some people may not look on you with respect but there are a few out there who could run into your path and be grateful for the service you provide. and the rewarding feeling you can get when you know you can go home at the end of the day knowing that you may have made the world a little bit safer and you have helped someone.

To be a firefighter, well your mad but brave. and another very rewarding job imo. knowing that in most situations your going to be facing a situation where someones life is involved from car crashes, to house fires to buildings collapsing. or to simply rescuing a cat and the smile you manage to put back on someones face.

Or you can be the one who is behind the scenes, doing all the work that no one ever see's but you know that you have made a change to the day

But i would like to mostly work in an airport.... Its not the easiest job in the world. you get to meet new people everyday. you can put on a smile knowing it could be a rough day. You might meet a little kid who's going away and there scared.. or there flying alone and you might just be able to calm them down. you may get some elderly person who is lost and nervous. but you might just get to cheer them up and put a smile on their face as you wish them a good safe journey and to enjoy their trip. but you can also get those who would rather go to hell than calm down and relax. but its your job to remain calm and focused and try and deal and help them sort out the issue at hand. and no matter how stressful that moment may be you may just go home with a smile knowing you have solved someones problem and you have helped to get them on their way.

But even saying all that i still dont know what i really want to be but what i do know is when i grow up i want to help others and know that i can put a smile on their face to the best of my ability. Because everyday i have someone to put a smile on my face and i think its nice to pace that smile on knowing it could lead to something good happening.

Dell are always telling me to get a new battery. Several times I've got errors and warnings that my battery is not compatible or that it should be replaced. laptop is not even a year old. Simply removing from the back and putting it back in again resolves the problem. Could try that.

    Hmmmmmmmmmm interesting..
Well my lappies a dying breed but if I could stretch its lifespan out a bit longer, but at the same time not leave it to late that I lose everything on it..

Deise you'll still be able to use it, it'll just have to be plugged in all the time. If you're intending on making it last through this year, I'd just settle with that. Like if your battery's as crap as mine tends to be after a few months, you'd have it nearly charged in all the time anyway.

Anyway, in other news, Google has an athletics game that passed ten minutes nicely. It's like QWOP except much, much easier.

My lappie only lasts 40 mins without it anyway :L
But my charger is nearly dead too and I cant unplug the socket or it will take hours to work.. >.<

You'll be fine, you'll probably have to have it plugged in a lot more, but if you can't afford a new battery then don't bother. It may also become frustrating if it's anything like mine, and randomly decides "Nah, I'm done now. Shutdown." even when there's 90% of the battery left. :\

my acer has phenomenal battery life, I get minimum 5h out of a full charge for general college and mucking about, and this is after 3 years of heavy degradation. Only issue is the battery is physically twice as big as any other laptop battery I've seen

ahh you wont lose everything. just if it should come to that. just remove the hard drive and connect it up to a new computer to get all your things. but by right you should have all your photos and documents not to mention the most important music backed up on an external portable Hard drive Aldi do some really good ones which are perfect and can be dismantled

I may seem like im talking mad but i got the idea from my granddad and its straight forward once you know the basics which are what a HDD is and how to dis/connect it to the portable HD, and how to use a screw driver.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2183860/Todd-Bentley-MP-calls-ban-tattooed-preacher-cures-cancer-kicking-people-face.html
An evangelist who kicks followers in the face, claiming his violence will cure them of cancer, is to tour Britain this month – but his proposed visit has provoked outrage and demands that he be banned from entering the country.

Tattooed preacher Todd Bentley, who as a 15-year-old was convicted of a sex attack on a boy aged seven, claims God uses him as an instrument to heal the sick, and is urging the frail to attend his shows.

The former drug user, who is Canadian but based in the United States, even laughs about his ‘healing’ techniques. In one show he treated a man claiming to be suffering from colon cancer by planting his knee hard into the victim’s stomach. The man fell to the floor in agony.

On another occasion, a man was pushed over so forcefully that he lost a tooth.

I think I'd take up swimming or archery, I've always loved both I just didn't know it was a sport in the olympics or anything. An when I learnt to swim when I was younger I always thought you learnt it so you wouldn't drown.

I love dolphins as my wild animal for some reason not sure why.

I don't want to do a playpen because it will either get less than a page of questions and shatter my gigantic ego, or get a ton of questions that I'll never answer and make me feel lazy and shatter my gigantic ego.

Luckily, I'm never going to do one, and I can tell myself that I'm great all day.

For the past two afternoons I've been minding a four-year-old neighbour and apparently I'm Batman now. Which is nice. I'm possibly the laziest Batman ever: I sit down with the laptop ("Bat-puter"), delegate everything to the four year old ("Robin"), offer some sound advice ("get him!") and congratulate him on conquering the Joker and the Penguin yet again for the 139th time. Reckon I'm still better than Michael Keaton though.
