Just went garage for lunch and I'm not sure of the year as was a English reg but a ford escort Mexico went past followed by a Opel manta. Beauties

That Ferrari and the Brabus G63 AMG 6X6 are the only two tuned cars that I like. That Ferrari costs around €500,000.

    Is that wrapped?

A lovely 4 series and not a hubcap in sight!

I saw a new 4 series today for the first time.

Always thought it looked nice in pictures so went up for a closer look (car was parked) .... To my horror , it had hubcaps! ... HUPBCAPS on a brand new 4 series! for Gods sake!!

"Paddy spec" mentality obviously still rife! Shocking looking car... Although im sure a "real" 4 series looks much better

You sure they were hubcaps? Some woegus alloys look like hubcaps. 100% certain the car comes from the factory with alloys as standard - only 17s mind you but definitely alloys. Only explanation is your poor sight or owner (inexplicably) changed alloys to hubcaps.

You could double that with the tax here....

Afaik the only bmw with hubcaps is the base 1 series hatch, all the others even in base spec have alloys although a lot of them are poor enough design wise.

Even at that, only budget cars should have hub caps when new, in 2014. Not a premium brand like BMW, it beggars belief really.

    UK Paddy Spec!?!

There must be a reason for those steel wheels on the 5 series. Alloys definitely come standard on those cars in Ireland let alone in the UK.

I saw that v6 tdi.... thought it was a joke !

Plenty of companies have a no alloy policy. A few years back I picked up a tasty set of Ford alloys for half nothing with brand new tyres as the new car they came off had them removed and replaced with steel wheels.

Some often misguided perception that alloys automatically mean expensive tyres.

Must have been goggle eyed from all the passat power while he was fitting the no.plate.

No F30 came from the factory on steel wheels in to Ireland, and as we have the same standard specification as the UK, should be the same over there as well.

Wonder if they were winter wheels?

    Also - that's showing as a 320i SE Turbo?

Wait around 10 minutes to take this photo - clean photo. There was a kid behind the car and he didn't want to walk away...

Could very well be genuine though. He may have declared it as a 745i when going through revenue as the Alpina B7 has the same engine from a 745i with an added supercharger.

Kind of hard to believe that that Bangle design was out in 2002

I recently saw a white MK.6 Golf GTi in Germany with steel wheels and hub caps. It looked wrong.

    We're all in this psy-op together.🤨

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,390 ✭✭✭ofcork

I assume you would specifically have to spec no alloys as they would be standard surely?
