Christ, the last few pages would really make you wonder who the owners of some of these cars are trying to impress..

    - Merc 1.8 with "CLK65" badges
    - BMW L40il with a Halfords "V12" badge
    - Ferrari Mondial "Competizione"
    - Audi "RS6" TDI

All of them very nice cars in their own right but tarnished by their insecure owners.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,793 ✭✭✭coolisin

The v12 badge is genuine on the 7series, it is a long wheelbase 750 which I thought had the v12 in them. I'm assuming your talking about the one at Limerick cars and coffee!

But the badges dont bother me the mr2 dressed as a Ferrari bothers me.

I know it's a V12 but the cheap badge on the rear looks absolutely dreadful in my opinion.

The 750 didn't have a V12 badge from the factory.

Have to say I was surprised by the 'RS6' being fake. 2011 plate (pre this generation release) and wing mirrors looked off. Assumed it was a vanity plate and a wing mirror change for sleeper reasons. The arches looked rs6 for sure.

Have to say it's some effort at a fake unit, compared to what you see on road here. Most of body adjusted but must have been professionally done.

I saw Paddy's 3series in the short term carpark at the airport yesterday. No picture of it though. There was also a 2014 Aston on Irish plates a few spaces down but no pics of it either.

I got pictures of the Aston, as has been said, it's a regular there. I'm sorry anyone spotted my car, it's looking a bit sorry for itself whilst splitter less and waiting for my headlights to come back from the US :(

Of course may its the other way. The car is a real AMG and he got the paperwork to register it as a cheap to tax Merc.

No way its real as ive said there is no clk65,if he got 55 or 63 would have looked better.

So obviously a fake. C7 generation of RS6 comes only in Avant. This generation was never made in Saloon form.

    GT40.

The funny thing is that Ford decreed that production of them should stop when their liability lawyers started to have nightmares in case someone should crash one at 130 mph. These days they will sell you a Mondeo that goes that fast.

They were in fact built for Ford by JW Automotive. Original design was by Eric Broadly of Lola Cars fame. When Ford decided that no more should be produced they gave John Wayer of JW full rights to the car, as in full rights to repair, to supply spares, in fact anything but build a new one.

These days the originals go for serious money but a http://www.classicandperformancecar.com/features/octane_features/263512/gt40_special.html can be built for merely very expensive car money.

Keeping up the GT40 lovefest, this was our next door neighbour when camping in France,
The owner nearly blew down his tent/awning when reversing into his spot, also it's LOUD!!!

The manager of the Westbury hotel owns that Ferrari 599, He also owns a grey Audi R8 V8.

Wasn't a grey one by any chance? Almost sure I saw a grey 911 with L plates on it in Blackrock earlier this week.

If you're talking about the grey R8 that's parked on that street all the time then you're mistaken - 2 different owners.
