Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Apologies for chat, but saw a show on Channel 4 the other night entitled 'Millionaire boy racers' and it covered the Gulf supercar invasion of London every summer. Had me drooling for 40 mins over some of the cars shown.

It even showcased the car spotter side of things. Worth a look

Here is what i saw on Sunday 06.01.2013 - my first 2013 photos. It's Cars & Coffee in Cherrywood Business Park. When i was driving there i spot marked Garda car in front of me so i slow down to the speed they were driving with. I start driving at the same speed as they but i still keep distance between us. They were driving 140km/h where speed limit is 100km/h. Well done Garda, breaking speed limits, driving on right line when left one is empty and everything with no singals what mean they are normal car. I was driving with the same speed as they if they were slowed done i did the same to keep distance between us and don't let them to stop me but i was changing the line to right one if that was empty. Then we go on the road where speed limit is 60km/h. Start with 90km/h and slow down to 70km/h. I did exactly the same driving beside them. I'm 99% sure they wanted to stop me behind roundabout but they drive straight and i turn right. I won't forget their face when i was turning right.

Now something about meeting. There was few nice cars and many photographers so i'm surprised that there is no photos here yet. Hard to choose the car of the day. I would choose between: Jaguar E-Type V12, AC Cobra with 6.3 litre chrome engine and Audi R8. Can't forget about my possible to fulfillment dream - an SL55 AMG. One day. I missed few cars like GT-R and BMW M5 because i had to leave earlier to go to work. Nice surprise for me was two lads who were taking photos of my car when i was driving away. I could feel like one of that mans who drive by Lamborghini's and Ferrari's haha

Now photos: but don't forget that i still don't know how to use that camera properly...

Good to see you starting 2013 with a bang Marcinek! :D

The red Firebird and Cobra look stunning!

Though if I had to pick one for myself it'd be the understated RS4 all day long :D

Old with the Prestige Pack. You'd be mad not to specify €8,000 + of extra's for €500!

S-Line Exterior Pack, 18" Rotor Alloys, Leather/Alcantara Sports Seats, Black Styling Pack, Tinter Rear Windows and the BOSE Sound system.

No. But he's a regular at the Cherrywood C&C.

The only issue I'd see with that is how to get to the clutch release. It's a nice setup he has with the car though.

    Here's a picture from June.

Tis a long way for me to travel on the off-chance he might be there next time :pac:

I'm wondering though - in the pic from June there's no cutting of the bottom of the grille for the control box, but in your pic from yesterday it's clearly been chopped.

As for the clutch release - can they be quick fit? pop off the numberplate, insert handle & twist maybe?

It looks like he's done a bit more modifications to it since then alright, as the bottom of the grille and the chome surround is chopped and something in there.

Sure, I'll have a closer look, I'm around next time. I tend to be at most of'em.

I'd bet money that its the control box now mounted on top of the winch ;)

Though I'm now curious about the clutch handle since you mentioned it.

So, your mission, should you choose to accept it ... :pac:

I fricken forgot that the C&C in Cherrywood. Pity Octane is down, that used to be my reminder.

Did any of you notice a reduction in numbers as a result of octane being down?

Love the cobra, I know a guy who has built a kit that looks the spit of that, same guy has a Porsche Speedster cab kit.

No reduction in numbers. And the reminders are on Pistonheads, Forty Acres, the C&C Facebook Group and well, they're on fixed dates (Cherrywood every 1st sun of the month, Galway every 2nd, Athlone every 3rd, Limerick on the 2nd wednesday eve), so you can just stick'em in your phone on the calendar on a recurring setting and never miss one. There's no excuse for missing out.
