Just back from checking out the cars at the Gumball run.

Beautiful Ferrari FF and silver SLS were the stars of the show for me.

That red Diablo was a dog. Roadster with a GTR badge on the back, dodgy spoiler and mirrors and a 6.0 front end.

Thought it was a bit much of the cops to be confiscating cars without insurance, NCT or Tax on display. Or if they were on a garage plate.

Beautifull red CLK63 AMG Black Series and Aventador and of course Noble M400 - that was the 2nd time when i see it on the street and 1st time when i taking photo of this. I'm not posting photos because my camera was break yestarday when i went to do some night photos and today i had to use my old little camera which doesn't make good quality photos :(

    Only few from yesterday:

I used to see that 08KY Corsa OPC in Killorglin . Test drove it once when it was in Aherns but decided to get the Astra OPC instead. Still think the Corsa's front Recaros seats are better than the Astra though.

I saw a 1967 Shelby GT500 as I was driving to Bessbrook. Just like Eleanor... How I drooled, the sound from it!

Please tell me I'm not the only one that saw it? I'd have got snaps only I wasn't expecting to see it and was driving :(

I don't think you are. There was a former customer of mine based in Castlebellingham had brought all the gear from the states, and was in the process of the full conversion.

Last time I saw it was about 4 years ago, and he was prepping it for painting. Had engine and transmission rebuilt at that stage as well.

Was up with him a couple of months back. Coming on great but still plenty to go. I'll try root out some pics.

If you could, I'd really appreciate it man. Used to call in to him for a chat, moreso than trying to sell him anything.

My first camera was some kind of small camera which i get from my parents - good for start. Then i bought Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12 and this is a camera i used today. Since 2009 i have Sony Alpha 350. I can't say it's bad camera, (you can see what photos is taking) but all the Sony cameras have one big problem - autofocus. It was in service twice already with the same problem and i don't know what's wrong with it now. I'm sure there is problem with autofocus because it wasn't work good since april this year but i had no time to send it to service, the second problem now is little black spot on every photo i take (you can see it on some photos with light background) and yesterday when i tried do photos of silver SLS it's gone. All what it's show is "camera error" i can't do anything with it so i had to back to Panasonic during this year Cannonball.
In six weeks i will get fixed Sony back or i will buy new camera - don't know yet. I'll show you what photos Panasonic did today - i feel ashamed to post photos with this quality. They doesn't look good if i compare them to my normal photos. Hope you forgive me that : P

Two first and two last are from yesterday (taken by Sony)

That red Lamborghini it's some joke. It doesn't look like real Diablo. Wheels from Murcielago are hiden too far in arches, mirrors... don't know what to say about it. No, never do it to my Lambo if i will have any :P I have to say that there was no car which i saw and i say wow... Nice cars but not all which were on entry list... Where was Ultima GTR ?? Where was all 458's ?? And can abyone tell me what is that silver 599 with reg F2 ONYX :?: Front look like 599 GTO with little different, exhaust and wheels like 599 HGTE, spoiler like some aftermarket spoiler, is it 599 by ONYX ?? Biggest surprise for me was Noble M400 - i was waiting for 5 years to have chance to take a photo of that car and rec CLK63 AMG Black Series because i didn't even know there is soem on Irish reg. And once again forgive me quality pf that photos :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,752 ✭✭✭el diablo

Yeah I was very surprised there was no 458. No F40 this year either. :(

Thanks! Was just curious as I've been quite impressed by the quality of some of the photos, particularly the night shots, so was just wondering what captured them

Crap, totally missed the Cannonball, had no idea it was on now! I still have last years pics in my "to process" folder on the pc

Few cars I wouldn't have minded having a look around but I guess I missed it all :(
