Just missed a new vanquish before the one-77. Delighted I got it though. Was in the back of my mates car so sorry for the poor quality snaps.

A few more from Nuit du Turini. These ones are from a camera so quality should be better. I'm not sure whether here or Classic Cars is the best place to put them. The owner of the green Alfa asked if could get copies of the shots so I told him they would be here.

Sony A57. I just need to get some bigger lens and i'll be happy. Man made a mistake when i was paying for this one so i saved 300e and now i can spend it on lens :)

A flash and a tripod may do you better to start, man.
    Lenses get expensive, very quickly!

So do tripods and flashes :(

What lens were you thinking of getting?

    That's true. :(
You can get a decent external flash and a Manfrotto tripod for about €250-€300 though, that's low level lens money!

There's more to learn with a flash and tripod too, a new lens will just be as good as the old one 'till he gets to grips with the camera itself. :)
All just my personal opinion of course.

I have a tripod already. What about a flash: I don't think i need it. Never use it. Average only 1 of 3000 photos is taken with flash. Night photos are look better without flash in my opinion :)

I had 18-70mm before and sometimes it was too small for me. Now i have smaller one 18-55mm. What i'm looking for is 18-135mm from Sony for about €400. It might be lens for everyday use. There is also 18-250mm/55-250mm but the first one is expensive and i read it's not too good, second one start from 55mm what's too much. You have too stay far away from item you want to photograph. My friend have 70-300mm and he said it useless for car spotting. The only place where he use it is track. I'm not on the track too often so 18-135mm should be perfect for me. Not too big, not too small :)

    Just the photo sadly.

The funny thing is, the car is quite underwhelming in person. Give me an SL55 any day.

Spotted this on Saturday, you'll have to excuse the horribly out of focus camera phone pictures, I was half asleep and quite hungover.

I've always loved them, genuinely seem like very cool cars.

With out dragging this too far off topic, using an external flash is completely different to using the built in one.
You'll actually be using it in day light quite a lot, especially in Ireland with our grey horrible light.
Firing the flash from a different angle can be useful too, you're limited to the very fake looking head on with the camera's flash. ;)

Another thing they're great for is action shots if you want to go down that route, the flash will "freeze" the subject to get you a clearer image.

    Food for thought anyway. :)

Saw one of these Ferrari hatchbach yokes in belfast today. In white too. Looked thoroughly unimpressive.

on the otherhand, I had a Phantom pull up beside me at the lights yesterday, THEY HUUUUUGE!!!! it's alloys were bigger than the moon! the bonnet was about the height of my roof! flip that thing was much bigger than I thought it would be.
