Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Actually Arsenal's group is difficult with Dortmund in there. I don't think City should have too many problems, they should qualify imo.
I think they'll qualify too but i think it'll be very tight.

Had a chuckle at this on Twitter:
MirrorFootball BREAKING: Unhappy with their draw, Man City have just submitted a £30m bid for Arsenal's group

I have to say if we cant get out of that group we should forget about it...

Of all the years that we have been in CL this is the year I would love to win it with it being in Munich.

And Munich is an amazing city, might see at booking for the final whether Utd are there or not.

Best thing about the group, is Welbeck, Cleverley and Hernandez will get plenty of time on the pitch, which will do them the world of good for experience.

This is actually the first season that I would rather win the CL for the reason of where the final is..

    Show-Off!!

Edit: I reckon the atmosphere would be mental in that stadium.

So, assuming we get out past the group stages, what possible fixtures could we be looking at in the latter stages?

I think it's relatively random. Winners of groups play runners up and i don't think you can play a team from the same country until the quarter finals.

So, assuming we get out past the group stages, what possible fixtures could we be looking at in the latter stages?

Realistically(assuming we finish top along with Barca, Real) it will be one of the following

    Bayern/Villareal/Napoli

    Inter/CSKA

    Lyon/Ajax

    Valencia/Bayer Leverkusen

    Dortmund/Marseille

    Porto/Shaktahr/Zenit

    AC Milan

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭Blatter

If Man City finish second in their group(which is quite possible even though they are slim favorites to top it) they would likely play one of

    Inter

    Real Madrid

    Porto

    Barcelona

    Dortmund

Assuming all the English sides(except Arsenal) top their group.

Rumour on twitter(I fear it's true) that Gibson is injured for 4 weeks.

We will never get rid of him if true.

We get the hardest game out of the way first, away to Benfica. Win that and the rest of the group is a stroll.

No bother found a stream here, not up to much but beggers can't be choosers.

    2-0 atm.

EDIT: Commentator's say Swansea haven't had a shot after 32mins of play.

    Pretty sure its a loan.

Pogba got the 2nd for the reserves. Pick of the 3.

Pogba playing on the right again. Playing well. Petrucci playing well too although Swansea are poor.

EDIT: Ya double checked there, Norwood 5 month loan deal.

And probably cost a fraction of the price.

4-0, Diouf with his 2nd. Swansea still without a shot on target after nearly 70mins.

Just as I say it they have a tame effort saved.

5 0 and a very good goal at that. Will Keane the architect and Lingaard with a neat volley to put it away...

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,177 ✭✭✭TheTownie

5-0, Jesse Lingard. Peach of a volley, great technique.

anyone think evans will start this weekend?

anyone think evans will start this weekend?

Yes i think he will he deserves it imo. It will also keep his confidence up. Scary really Rafa done so well picked up an injury and couldnt get back in. Fabio came and done well and was one of the best players aganist Barca and looks to have lost his place. Great to see so much competition and unless Evra gets back to his best he might be warming the bench for Fabio. It is really the strongest in depth defence i have ever seen.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,177 ✭✭✭TheTownie

Full time. Utd Reserves 6-0 Swansea Reserves.

Scorers: Macheda, Pogba, Diouf (2), Lingard, Keane.

Macheda missed an open goal (real shocker :pac:). Diouf should have scored at least 3. Solid team performance. Fletcher got another 90mins under his belt. Not much of a work out though as Swansea weren't much in the way of opposition. Pogba and Petrucci with good performances. Pogba went off late on with a little knock. Will Keane came on as a sub and had a nice cameo.

I know people maybe wanted a tougher test for the group stages but i am delighted. Maybe its the muppet in me and wanting to give youth as much chance as possible. But we should stroll that group and in the last game or two give some young players some gametime and maybe Berba:pac:
