Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

But interweb shortening is ok? :P
Yeah that did make me look a bit of a tool alright:p

More specifically though my issue is with how it sounds like the person is trying to sound cool or casual, it just sounds bleh. On the web it's common place it's almost expected.

I DUNNO maybe I'm splittin hairs, WATCHA GONNA do BOUT it;)

I hate it too. I also hate when people call this forum Boards instead of calling it Bo. Even worse is when people say Google instead of Goo.

Wikipedia for the site, I'd say 'wiki' if I mean it as a verb though.

    My Polish colleague says "Vye-kipedia".

    That doesn't annoy me either.

    Personally, I always say wikipedia.
They also shop at Leedl. But that is its name.

Is there a small, quick guide to writing wikipedia articles? I have a ref book - "The Missing Manual" - but it is a bit too heavy!

wikipedia is a wiki it's a free content encyclopedia that anyone can edit.

http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page on the other hand is the content-free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.

wookiepedia is a star wars wiki

much of the information for open source software projects is done on wiki's
if you want to run linux on an IBM thinkpad then head over to thinkwiki

I've used internal wiki's for years , great for setting up technical notes that include links to devices on the network.
