I absolutely DETEST Ryan Tubridy  Have met him in person and I found him arrogant and rude.I also heard a comment he made on the radio about breastfeeding being akin to taking a p1ss in a public place so that firmly sealed the deal for me!

Will still watch the Toy Show because of the kids, most likely while mentally criticising his every move* :p

*And I'm secretly hoping for another John Joe :D

And he's great with the kids!! He's sweet with the younger ones and he has a laugh with the slightly older ones!! AND, he's so much better than Pat Kenny with his big feckin robotic head :p

    iloveryantubridy:P:P

You say that bit in bold like its some amazing achievement or something. A plank of wood with a face drawn on it would be better than Pat Kenny. Doesn't mean Tubridy is any good though :p

He has about as much charisma as a bucket full of chlamydia. He's VILE. And he's brutal with the kids on the Toy Show.

I want to punch his smug head clean off his shoulders. When you compare how he presents a show to say, Johnathan Ross or Graham Norton, or Conan O'Brien, y'know, professional talk show hosts, he's as a dull as a wet weekend, carefully rehearsed questions so as not to upset the biddies watching the late late. why is everything RTE does as dry as sh1te? its like the revenue commissioners running a tv channel, no fun round here thanks, go to channel 4 or one of those Yank tv channels if you want "laughs".

The Toy Show would be great if it wasn't for the kids, especially the singing and dancing ones, Christ they're annoying.

My 3 course dinner that I cooked was ruined because boyfriend got called into work straight from his other job. He finally got home, ate it, 2 hours later, and we started putting up the tree. He just got called back to work again now. F*ck this, biggest hugest angriest F*CK THIS ever. Second year in a row that putting up our decorations has gone like this, so I'm off to bed on my own with the tree half up, branches scattered around the sitting room, this is b*llocks.

I've been thinking about this since hyou posted earlier. I think you should go for it! I'm sure they are more than aware of your current boss and her attitude towards her employee's, and being that they are in the business they will also be aware of the cases of bullying levelled against her and how many staff she has managed to run through. I very much doubt they would have the same attitude as she does.

Either way, its a massive feather in your cap Pixie, you've managed to stick it out for far longer than any other employee, and have done so with a professional attitude. Any of them would be very lucky to employ you!!

Ah thanks very much. I just fired off my cv by e-mail (last time I sent them by post) to about 100 offices. Surely, I'll get something back!

Ah lads, your man with the thick country accent is class.

I like the kids this year. Not into the kids who think they're auditioning for Glee or a life long career in tv. There's no need for wooden kids, they're supposed to be having the craic and getting completely over excited so all their words just run together and they start talking really loud!

Yeah the kids annoy me, now if the studio was full of KITTENS!!! :p

Yeah we can do it tomorrow evening, but I'm off tomorrow so sitting here staring at the half up bare tree would be weird, will probably end up doing it by myself during the day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,842 ✭✭✭shinikins

I'd be taking the tree down completely and starting again tomorrow as if it had never happened!

I had great plans to put the tree up, needed to tidy up a bit and hoover first, but himself wasn't in the mood, so it's been put off for tonight. I'll have it up tomorrow though!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,729 ✭✭✭Acoshla

Our new tree is a branch by branch affair so I'll be damned if I'm taking it back down, we'll never get it back in the box and there's glitter everywhere from it!

I'm going to cut a big hunk of Christmas cake, grab a cup of tea and the kitten and head to bed, good day to you Friday, you've been a horror!

reading about the case in dingle, where a guy was brought to court for bald tyres, the garda said that when he looked in van, there was a donkey looking at him, the judge then asked what part the donkey played, and garda replied, the tin whistle,
i had heard of this case, then i googled it, it is hilarious, it happened a couple weeks ago

I put in bald tires donkey into google and found it! :D

Movie has alright - good enough story behind it alright Saw a big poster for New Years Eve film, the amount of stars in that, and its the same directors that did Valentines Day which I thought was very funny!

That was a singing show interrupted with Toys. I wanted more toys dangit!

The choir at the end were terrible. The Imelda May cover was impressive!

Tubridy hit highs and lows tonight.

Oh and the best thing about the Toy Show is the thread in Television. Every year, it delivers!

Need some advice. I'm sending out my cvs again and I'm just wondering about other legal offices on our circuit. Most would know of my boss or have been on the opposing side at some stage so I'm just wondering would any of you be a be wary of sending cvs to these offices out in this scenario?

Do it, do it, do it. They may be adversaries in the courtroom but they're essentially colleagues otherwise. If they know her (and by extension what she's like) and they see how you've stuck with her for a year they'll hopefully get the idea that you'll stick with the job despite difficulties...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,440 ✭✭✭cdaly_

Ah thanks very much. I just fired off my cv by e-mail (last time I sent them by post) to about 100 offices. Surely, I'll get something back!

Follow them up with phone calls next week:

"Hi Pixiebean here. I sent you a CV by email last week, did you get to look at it? Yes, I've been working for boss-from-hell for the last year and I think it's time I gained some experience of your-legal-specialty. I'd love to come by to have a chat if that would be possible. Yes, I know times are hard but it's always worth getting in touch with more people in the profession. So, would you be free for 15 mins if I was to call on say Wednesday afternoon?..."

Sometimes blatent self-selling like this can make a difference.

Hope you get something out of this lot...

Theres a missing student alert going around Facebook, guy called Caolan Mulrooney in Cork, last seen outside a club last night. Really hoping he is found safe and sound, badly hungover in a corner of someones student accomodation with a dead phone... far too many tragic instances of nights out ending sadly in the last while.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,175 ✭✭✭angeldelight

I don't know why it bugs me but it really does - every single time my other half goes out it has to be a mad one. Just got a text from someone else's phone saying his battery is dead and he's getting the last nightlink home - that's at 4am! I wouldn't mind if he was even gone out with his good friends or anything, he only went for the poker, and cause it was BYOB so a cheap night and now he's not going to get home until nearly 5... Argh! Am I overreacting? I dunno >.<

Does he go out regularly or rarely? If he rarely goes out he might just be overindulging to make up for it.

@cdaly - thanks for the advice. When i posted out my cvs i rang up the offices where i knew the secretaries (you tend to get to know them when you're ringing up grovelling over a last minute application on a regular basis). I know there is at least one job going this time (heard on the grapevine) so fingers crossed.

It's so funny i find myself lusting after jobs in particular offices because of the quality of the work they send us. Or lusting after working for a barrister (I would love to work for senior counsel) because of the strength of their case work.
