    Hi Chris,

    Welcome to boards.ie!

I know you've just registered (and might need to be verified) but I'll just ask one quick question; the Fraud Analyst job - it's pretty much what I do at the moment (in another company), is the position still open? I read somewhere earlier in the thread that the game is being launched in a matter of weeks, and that recruitment is on hold?

    Thanks for your time.

    Thanks for the welcome!

I verified using my BioWare email, but if any admin wishes for me to be further verified, they can contact me directly. Or if you use twitter, feel free to tweet at me using @Chrisdeum and I'll wave back, just to let you know it's me.

The position's in the Fraud team are still open. We receive a large volume of CV's and such for each position, so sometimes it can take a while to hear back from us. You're right - the game does launch in a few weeks (December 20th to be precise), but we're still hiring. We definitely have not put recruitment on hold! We did send a mail out a while back, stating that there was a delay in responding to some applicants, but other than that, we're full-steam ahead!

It's also worth noting that you will hear back from us either way. Silence doesn't mean you haven't been successful - it just means we're busy ;)

    Hi Chris,

I applied for a customer service role and got as far as a Sonru automated interview which I completed on the 20th of last month.
I was curious as it's been a couple of weeks; do HR let applicants know if they have been unsuccessful at this stage in the process? Or do you only get in touch with candidates who are going to interview?

    Hi Bellisner,

You should hear back either way. As I mentioned before, we're getting a lot of candidates applying, so it does sometimes take us a while to reply. Feel free to contact HR directly, using Galwaycareers/at/bioware.com (removing the /at/ and replacing it with an @ symbol) and they can give you feedback.

I've also just found out that gmail has been blocking some bioware email addresses, so a lot of candidates haven't been receiving our mails. Did you use a gmail email address by any chance?

    Hi Chris,

    Thanks for your response.
I was reluctant to contact HR directly as at every point of the process I see the following.
"Due to the volume of applications we receive for our job postings, we are unable to respond personally to telephone inquiries or emails regarding the status of an application".

I actually got as far as the face to face interview earlier this year but was ultimately unsuccessful; however I know from precedent the next stage is to call me arranging an interview, but if unsuccessful at this stage I wondering about if anyone hears word.

In regards to Gmail. I do indeed use it, however I haven't experienced any issues in receiving mail from BioWare either in relation to my application or regards to playing the beta (which was hugely impressive by the way.)
Also I check junk/spam at least once a day.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!

Any chance you can hook my pre-order up with Early Access while I wait for a reply on the job front? :)

I'm having withdrawals since beta ended.

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name's Chris Collins and I'm the European Community Manager here in BioWare Ireland.

I thought I'd make my presence here know, to see if anyone had any questions about working here at BWI and help anyone wanting more info about the hiring process in general.

I can't answer every question, but I can put you in touch with the right people here when I can't, so please feel free to ask away!

    Hi Chris,

My particular area of interest is procurement, any openings or plans for same ?

    Hi Chris,

I applied some time ago for one of the Network Admin roles and got as far as the first automated interview. I ended up not getting any further and to be honest I felt that I had maybe messed it up. Its very hard to do a Network Admin Interview via a video questionnaire.
I got an email saying that I would be kept on file and maybe contacted again for a more suitable role.
Im just wondering if thats actually the case as Ive been through another interview process recently but turned down the job as I believe Bioware would offer better opportunities and would give me a reason to leave my current employment.

Apologies for the long winded question!!

    Hi there everybody!

My internet handle is Merubus, but you guys and gals can call me Vincent if you'd like.

I've got no idea where boards.ie comes into place in the whole Irish web, since I'm Dutch, but I just stumbled upon this little thread here and it piqued my curiosity, so I thought I'd reply to it! I'm currently a 25 years old IT specialist/gamer in the process of applying for a CSR job in Galway, for Bioware.

So far, I made it through to the video interview round. Considering the fact that this thread here's got the attention from Chris Collins and people who passed the interviews, are there by chance any members on these boards (or in this topic) that live outside the UK (but in the EU) and are moving to Galway for this job?

If so, could you please give me some tips and anecdotes on your moving experience there, that would be greatly appreciated! Also, what is the applicant's responsibility with regards to finding housing and handling the social security stuff for moving into Ireland? Is it a lot of hassle, or does Bioware take a bit of the pressure off when you're coming over.

I don't mind some extra hassle to get the probably most awesome job in Europe, but my fiancee and her cat are moving over as well, so I'd like their stress levels to be within boundaries if possible ;).

If you could give me any tips at all, that would be greatly appreciated!

    Best regards,

    Vincent

    Hi guys,

    Interesting thread.

I noticed the majority of you applied for CSR positions....was that the only position advertised?

Wondering if anyone applied to be a part of the design team at any stage, would be interested to hear of your experiences.

    Cheers.

Well it will be very stressful for her cat as the cat will have to go into quarantine for a while (possibly over a month long) before being released on the cats of Galway.

I will indeed! Had a few friends who said the interview wasnt too bad and that Bioware generally got back to them within a week to say they got the job so hopefully I can join them up in Galway! Never been there before so it'll be a bit of an adventure haha

All three of those areas are good (certain estates in Ballybrit less good) and close enough to Parkmore to cycle. Walking to Bioware is about 20 mins.
Try getting a place as close to Briarhill as possible.

Sure am gonna have a long commute to the Zenimax/Bethesda offices in April :)

    @everyone

If you get a job here, just live in doughishka or even town, the bus is insanely reliable even at the worst of times. It's galway buses most dedicated route

Don't get into any sort of long term deal before you're here and can see the place: any landlord willing to sign you up without meeting you is probably renting out a hovel, or somewhere in a very dodgy estate.

Look at ads in the Advertiser http://www.advertiser.ie/galway - you just have to give an email address to see the online version.

Unless someone here offers you a room, then book into a hostel or b&b when you arrive, and then look at places.

I haven't used it, but according to the timetable, the first #9 bus is now at 6:30am. It doesn't go through Doughiska/Roscam though (goes up thru Mervue and to Boston Scientific for their 7am start, then on to Parkmore to do a 7am run into town).

    Good luck with the move.

I was told I got the job :) I'm starting next Monday. I'm in the same boat as everyone else though re: 7AM shift starts. Will have to look into the #9 starting at 06:30 now Mary, if it does, that'd be awesome.
