I know I should be happy but I think I've a point in being pissed off. I got my 1st choice no problem. It was Optometry which opened at 495 points. I got 565. Happy days right? Wrong!!!

I repeated to get this course and my first time round I got 505 missing it by 10 points last year. So basically if I sat on my back side all year I would have got the place but instead I busted myself in doing the leaving cert again. FML!

Ouch! But at least you have a better leaving cert now

Yeah I can see how that would be annoying, but look on the bright side, you have it at last. :P
Loads of people repeat for things like that and Medicine and still don't get them.

i repeated the leaving this year and got an offer but it was based on my points from last year and my number from this year is no where to be seen on my cao form. Am i doomed? Will i just have to re-apply next year? thanks

I got a PM this morning after waking up and looking at what i knew wasnt going to be nice.. i got my third choice on my CAO after hoping to get Earth Sciences in TCD..

Got my first choice Engineering Innovation in galway... I RALLY didnt expect it because it was 560 last year and i only got 495... but now that I got it im not sure if i want to do it can i decline it and get one of my lower offers in round????

I just wanted Arts in Maynooth, got 375 but the course went up to 380... gonna get my papers rechecked to hopefully get the extra 5 points, but does anyone know from experience how this 2nd offers thing works? it's Arts so I don't think there'll be any places left to go around...

I'd say seeing as you're only 5 points off you've got as a good a chance as anybody of getting offered Arts in the subsequent rounds. I don't know the process from experience though. Hopefully someone in here does. Either that or try do a bit of reading up. Fingers crossed for ya!
